Santi Cazorla reveals he wants to end his career back in Spain

Our very own little Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla has revealed to Arsenal fans that he has always intended to go back to his original club Real Oviedo, who were his local club as a youth player. There have been many rumours that the 30 year-old has been homesick for Spain, although lately most of the rumours have been linking him with the top La Liga side Atletico Madrid.

But Santiago is fully expected to have one more season at the Emirates, but he told the Express that he would love to return to Oviedo one day before he retires. “It is the club of my home and I will be a supporter all my life,” Cazorla said. “It is the club where I grew up from nine to 18.

“I spent my career there, I learned a lot as a player and hopefully I can wear that shirt.

“In the short term it will be difficult, but hopefully in a few years I can do that

“It is the team of which I was, I am, and will be a supporter of for all of my life.”

It is great that Cazorla still loves his local team, but right now the man is MUCH too talented to be playing in the Segunda Liga. I am sure he could even have another three years at Arsenal before going out to pasture. Like a good Spanish wine, he seems to mature with age…..

  1. Houston we have a problem.

Cazorla would like to return to Spain, but we want him to stay.

I say we vote on it. OK. That’s it then, he stays.

    1. If you read what he actually said you’d realise we have absolutely no problem. He speaks about Oviedo, his childhood club, a club in the Segunda. You don’t go to play there when you are at the peak of your career. If there was (let’s say) Atletico, Valencia etc then maybe we would have had an issue. This is nothing to sweat about. Not in the short term as Cazorla puts it.

  2. i remember an OGC NICE fan who was willing to do just about anything for Ospina to stay……in the end, u can’t stop a man’s destiny nor dream
