Sead Kolasinac and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang confident of a top-four finish

Sead Kolasinac and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang confident of finishing the season in a top-four position.

Arsenal will go third this evening with a win at Sheffield United and that is exactly on target. Both Kolasinac and Aubameyang have spoken about the goal of finishing in a Champions League spot.

Aubameyang has just picked up the Premier League Player of the Month award for September following a great month on the pitch.

‘I feel great,’ Aubameyang said as he was presented with the award. ‘I’m feeling free on the pitch.

‘I don’t know if it’s the best form of my career but it’s a good one so I will try to keep the level up.

‘I’m sure we will achieve the top four. That’s the goal. That’s our aim.’

Kolasinac in full agreement with Aubameyang

Defender Kolasinac is basically of the same opinion, in fact, being third before the international break was the goal.

‘We have had a solid start and were in third place before the international break, which was our goal for then” the Bosnian said

‘We need to improve on a few things and we are looking to do that. We are working hard on that.

‘When we are all back, we are a really strong team. It is not only the 11 on the pitch, it is also the people on the bench, the people that are not in the squad, the whole club.

‘The Premier League isn’t called the hardest league in the world for nothing. It [the race for the top-four] is pretty wide open.

‘For example, Manchester City lost to Wolves before the international break. But we are just going to focus on ourselves and try to work hard to win every game.

‘Who knows what will happen at the end of the season? We are still at the beginning now, but we hope to finish in the top four.’

It is good that the lads are confident and they should be. A win tonight puts Arsenal just a single point behind Man City, who would have thought that at the start of the season? After this evening the season is almost 25% old and there is no real reason why Arsenal cannot keep in contact with the top-two.

It has not been a great season performance wise but the team is getting better. Players are back from injury and our best players are in top form. It really is down to Emery to get it right on the field of play.

  1. Auba September player of the month, playing c.f. what does that mean with laca back from injury, its a really tough decision as both auba and Laca are both fans favourite. Looking forward to how unai uses both player

  2. Some EPL players would be upset if Emery swaps their positions with the cup players. For instance, if Tierney suddenly start ahead of Kolasinac in Sheffield

Although the EPL wins are not convincing, but those players are the ones that brought us to the third position. I think some of them feel entitled to continue playing in EPL matches

Therefore I believe Emery would keep the same line-up

    1. I think you are right gotanidea, Chambers have been in fine form and it won’t be nice if we just bench him for a returning bellerin, am not sure kolasinac should be upset if Tierney bench him because kolasinac has been average at best and with Tierney we have a specialist ball crosser something kolasinac cannot do.

      1. I reckon Kolasinac’s crosses are good. But Kolasinac tends to create low crosses to the midfielders instead of creating high crosses to the attackers like Tierney

However, Kolasinac usually looks out of gas after playing for sixty minutes. I’d like to see Tierney play for ninety minutes in EPL match

        1. So gotanidea you mean Tierney, bellerin, holding,Niles,Nelson, ozil and few more are officially cup players and kolasinac and co officially EPL players then no need of hoping for a top 4 finish

    2. I don’t think this should be a criterium for selection. No matter who got you wherever, the best possible lineup for the conditions and the opposition should be the only thing that counts, and if Kola is a tram man, he should not get upset if replaced by Tierney. He could have seen it coming from the beginning of the season.

      1. Kolasinac should remember what made him the best LB in Bundesliga several years ago

He showed an aggressive playing style in his first matches at Arsenal, but his work rate gradually diminishes as he gets older

  3. I prefer what Luiz said. Aiming for the title rather than what Auba and Kola said. Many will urgue that aiming for the title is unrealistic but what is the purpose of playing in a competition where your target is number two? What don’t we have? Right now our squad is only second to Liverpool and mancity! I can’t even name a single position in which we are short of quality (using our available injury free squad) one thing, Luiz sounds like a leader and has a better mentality that I would admire in my team. Playing for number four, isn’t enough. Emery must instil a positive mentality to these players

    1. Agreed. We’ve spent the last 3 seasons only to get back to the top 4, and Auba and Kola experienced it twice among the team who felt the disappointment at the end of the season. So it’s just natural that for them for now the realistic target should be getting back to the top 4 first. Get 3 points tonight. Beat those so called big teams, then we know whether Emery and Luiz are being confident or delusional

  4. Auba Can at least get individual rewards, then we all know, our squad Can fight for 3rd to 8th spot with Man U, Spurs, Chelsea, Leceister, Everton.

Without Chelsea Spurs and Man U having troubles doing bad, we can’t make top4 nor leicester, let’s get real here.

Kolas speaks about being third and stay there, kissing Emery’s behind to stay in team.

For us to make it to 3rd or 4th, Tierny must play and he stays on bench, same for Xhaka.

Upon team Emery picks tonight, we will know if we win or do thé Unai chicken all Night. He should be replaced if we lose with his stupid choices.

  5. I hope you guys are not dreaming with UE as the manager? How on earth Xhaka plays every match I don’t understand. This guy is a joke manager.
