Sead Kolasinac and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang confident of a top-four finish

Sead Kolasinac and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang confident of finishing the season in a top-four position.

Arsenal will go third this evening with a win at Sheffield United and that is exactly on target. Both Kolasinac and Aubameyang have spoken about the goal of finishing in a Champions League spot.

Aubameyang has just picked up the Premier League Player of the Month award for September following a great month on the pitch.

‘I feel great,’ Aubameyang said as he was presented with the award. ‘I’m feeling free on the pitch.

‘I don’t know if it’s the best form of my career but it’s a good one so I will try to keep the level up.

‘I’m sure we will achieve the top four. That’s the goal. That’s our aim.’

Kolasinac in full agreement with Aubameyang

Defender Kolasinac is basically of the same opinion, in fact, being third before the international break was the goal.

‘We have had a solid start and were in third place before the international break, which was our goal for then” the Bosnian said

‘We need to improve on a few things and we are looking to do that. We are working hard on that.

‘When we are all back, we are a really strong team. It is not only the 11 on the pitch, it is also the people on the bench, the people that are not in the squad, the whole club.

‘The Premier League isn’t called the hardest league in the world for nothing. It [the race for the top-four] is pretty wide open.

‘For example, Manchester City lost to Wolves before the international break. But we are just going to focus on ourselves and try to work hard to win every game.

‘Who knows what will happen at the end of the season? We are still at the beginning now, but we hope to finish in the top four.’

It is good that the lads are confident and they should be. A win tonight puts Arsenal just a single point behind Man City, who would have thought that at the start of the season? After this evening the season is almost 25% old and there is no real reason why Arsenal cannot keep in contact with the top-two.

It has not been a great season performance wise but the team is getting better. Players are back from injury and our best players are in top form. It really is down to Emery to get it right on the field of play.
