Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has backed Aaron Ramsdale to prove his doubters wrong and become a top goalkeeper for the club.
He even takes us back in time to when some Arsenal fans didn’t warm up to him at first before he eventually proved them wrong.
He told The Mirror:
“I have seen him [Ramsdale] in training and in games as well, and I’m really impressed.
“He’s improved a lot. He’s got a great character and looks to be settling well.
“A lot of Arsenal fans weren’t too sure about him [Ramsdale] signing but he’s proved them wrong so far.
“It reminds me lot of what I was used to when I joined Arsenal.
“The fans all used to sing that ‘John Lukic is better than David Seaman’.
“I remember them saying ‘you’d never play for Arsenal’ and I proved them wrong!”
Considering that he has been relegated twice from the Premier League as the first choice goalkeeper at Bournemouth and Sheffield United, it is understandable that some Arsenal fans didn’t want us to sign Ramsdale.
However, it is up to him to prove the doubters wrong as he has done.
If he can keep his excellent form and help us return to the top four, he would certainly earn the respect and admiration of the Arsenal faithful.
Ramsdale’s first victory at the Emirates was beating Bernd Leno to the number one shirt.
He has to continually prove to be the best goalkeeper at the club now as the German is still in the squad and could win back his spot on the team.
Not an excellent shot stopper but a brilliant and spirited goalkeeper
Yeah, that would improve over time,he is still young.
Prefer him to berd Leno anyway,bcos Leno have cost arsenal lot points and all is down to lack of confidence.and as for Ramsdale he is still young and have enough room for improvement am sure of that.
The main difference is Ramsdale commands his area, Leno doesn’t.
I don’t care about what anyone says, this guy (Ramsdale) is far better than Leno in all areas of goalkeeping department
