SHOCK for Spurs as Arsenal set to replace Szczesny with Lloris?

Arsenal are looking good to complete our usual job of finishing above north London rivals Tottenham in the Premier League, as we have done every season since Arsene Wenger took over as manager 18 years ago. And as well as sticking that particular knife in, we could give it a good twist by completing a stunning transfer swoop for their keeper Hugo Lloris.

Another season out of the Champions League for the spuds will certainly help to convince the France international number one that his career would be much better off down the road at the Emirates stadium with the Gunners, where he would also join up with international team mates like Mathieu Debuchy, Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud. Playing regularly with two of the France back four could also help Lloris at international level.

A Metro report reveals that Wojciech Szczesny may have just a few months to convince Arsene Wenger that he is worth keeping at the club he joined as a teenager back in 2006. But with David Ospina having grabbed the first choice spot and showing no signs of giving it up, it will be difficult for the Poland number one.

And I can’t see Szczesny being happy to play second fiddle to anyone. The performances of David De Gea for Man United and Thibaut Courtois for Chelsea have shown just what a really top class stopper can do for a team and Wenger apparently sees Lloris as the keeper to do the same for Arsenal.

Can you see this transfer happening Gooners?

      1. late fitness test. as long as he’s available for spuds we’ll survive. We have Rosicky, Cazorla, Giroud all in form, and Walcott, Ozil available now as well. We’re not short of attackers. A shame Ox is out as well though.

        1. Ox is irrelevant when we have Walcott back, but of course. Nice to have players OFF the injury list every now and then.

          1. Walcott has yet to hit form, so there’s still a little uncertainty about how well he might do in the next few games. He needs a bit more game time to perform like he did against…. yep, Spurs last season! I hope he speeds up his form just like he also did early last season. Theo is a great big-game goal-scorer despite our poor run against bigger teams.

  1. cant see it happening but would love it if it did, for me behind Neuer the 2nd best keeper in world guys amazing guaranteed to earn the team he plays for 10-15 points single handedly every season.

  2. I don’t see it. Levy won’t do it.
Levy has actively tried to foil our transfers. If I remember correctly, Levy was calling Real Madrid to stop them from selling Ozil to us.

We have a better chance getting De Bea from United, Cech from Chelski and Hart from City then Lloris from Levy.

    I rate Lloris highly btw

If Szczesny wants to leave then we should consider other GKs like Cech, Lopez, Navas, Neuer (just kidding)

Seriously, If Szczesny leaves them we should consider getting a Top GK.

    1. Our top GK is called Ospina. It’s a bit of a gamble, i agree – all i’ve seen from him except for the recent games he’s had is the WC, which could have been luck for all we know. As we did with Szczesny, give Ospina some time before we decide to replace him. Ofcourse, should we be able to get a better one for a decent price, i say grab the deal – but there’s no reason in spending huge money on the GK spot just yet.

I’m actually satisfied with Wenger’s transfers this window. He bought what we needed – a CB and a DM (even though he’s far from being a contender for the top XI). No imminent need for a DM with Coquelin in his form – Flamini is a good backup, and we do also have Chambers for the DM if Bellerin stays fit for the RB. CB is good now, so all we need to do is sit back and watch the show – and look out for who needs to be replaced this summer or the next after that (Mertesacker, Flamini, Arteta, Cazorla, Debuchy and Rosicky are all well up or close to their 30’s, we need to have replacements ready before they actually need to be replaced)

      Mertesacker – Maybe Chambers?
      Flamini – Bielik could be?
Arteta – I personally think Wilshere fits better to the Arteta-role than the “dribble through every defender and break your leg”-role he’s currently on. Besides, we have an excess of attacking midfielders already.
Cazorla – Only ramsey could replace Cazorla – but then we would have to replace Ramsey, so we would have to buy someone new. Maybe Isco?
Debuchy – Bellerin or Jenkinson. If we’re buying, De Sciglio or Danilo
Rosicky – Özil, but as with Ramsey, we would need to fill that spot too… The question is; where do Ox, Gnabry, Campbell, Zelalem and Crowley come into the picture?

  3. Arsene wenger: ‘The only uncertainty we have is Alexis Sanchez who has a hamstring concern, and that will be decided on Saturday’

BOOM! arsenal rocked with injury crisis?!

    1. LOL
the next article will probably be us getting Messi
We already had a Suarez article today.

Actually a couple of days ago Bale said he liked Arsenal when he was a child, so I’m surprised that there isn’t an article on Gareth Bale. LoL

  4. I agree with the last paragraph

A WC GK can earn several points
he could make a difference between a loss and a draw, a draw and a win in some games.

That’s why Szczesny has gone down to second place. He got a bit lazy and cost points. Ospina has been superior this season

Don’t underestimate the power of the GK. I know defenders are supposed to defend but the GK is the Last Line of Defense

    1. Ospina superior? When was he challenged? Man City couldn’t find the goal. I’m all mfor seeing what he can do, but I’ve been disappointed on how quick people gave up on him. Lets give up on Wilshere and Ozil who have been crap. Welbeck who is a Yaya sanogoal. You guys really turn on players

      1. Btw. Loris is overrated and SMALL. And rumor is garbage. I like the Mandzukic rumor! That would be a signing

  5. Lloris is a good keeper…. but has Wenger given up on Ospina already, even with no goals conceded so far? …. That would be one odd transfer.

  6. When i read this rumour i was hoping to see that he had a buy out clause, but no… i read instead that it was a french paper just pondering on future player whereabouts with no credibility concerns.

  7. There r plenty of clubs out there interested in lloris and I am 100% certain we will be at the bottom of spuds’ list of clubs to sell to. Not happening in a million years (not from spuds to arsenal anyways), so can we have more realistic transfer stories that are worthy of discussions pls?

  8. if Sanchez is out this should be a starting XI

    Ospina
    Bellerin-Mert-Kos-Monreal
    Coq-Ramsey
    Walcott-Cazorla-Rosicky
    Giroud

    what do you guys think?

    1. Gotta have Paulista as a 2nd half sub for Mert.
Ozil has to play half the match, when he plays with Walcott they score goals and get assists, simple.
Mozart on 2nd half for Ozil, to torture Villa’s tired legs.

  9. Gabriel ~ “Arsenal must fight for all the most important titles around

Good luck with that mate! 😀

  10. Next PL Games before FA Cup against Middlesbrough

    Home- Aston Villa
    Away- Spuds
    Home- Everton

We should get all 9 points
I honestly think we can do it
I know derbys are difficult but I fancy us away to Spuds.
we can have an awesome February

  11. Next Article please

    Here are some topics
    1. If Sanchez doesn’t play against Villa, what should our line up be
    2. Arsenal miss out on Destro, Who’s next on Wenger wish list.
    3. United close in on Hummels, Chelski close in on Cuadrado. Bony will return to City soon, Sturridge returning to Liverpool. How will this affect our ability to close in on them
    4. Will Brooklyn Beckham be a first team player for Arsenal one day.
    5. Update on injuries and expected return dates

  12. What sounds more realistic is loris to braca to replace ter Stegen who could join liverpool
    Or
Loris to Real Madrid to replace iker who could join arsenal

  13. Metro is well known for its accurate reporting, they thoroughly research all of their stories and only publish when they are convinced of their accuracy so this story must be true.

We all know that Metro will print anything to get a story.

18 months ago Wenger says “I know you are hoping that I will announce a spectacular signing but I cannot. We are looking to strengthen the squad”. The media takes “spectacular” and “strengthen the squad” and reports ” wenger assures fans that spectacular signing is on the way”.

I don’t know why I am wasting my time reading this rubbish or bothering to reply.
