Should Arsenal be pursuing Premier League destined strike target?

Real Madrid’s Jese is supposedly in talks over a move to to either West Ham United or Southampton currently, while Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked.

The Spanish striker appears to be surplus to requirements to Real boss Zinedine Zidane this season, and he is supposedly being offered out to clubs this summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been credited with an interest in signing the forward, with both yet to bring in a new striker to the club.

The Gunners have so far failed in their pursuits of a number of top strike-targets, including Gonzalo Higuain, Alvaro Morata and Jamie Vardy, while Alexandre Lacazette’s move is more off than on in recent weeks…

Jese has been scouted on a number of occasions by our club, and has a respectable goal tally of 13 La Liga goals despite only being granted under 2000 match minutes, due to the strong amount of competition for places with the Bernabeu club.

Arsenal appear to only be on the look-out for a challenger to Olivier Giroud, and Jese could be an affordable striker, who at 23 years-old, could still prove to be a shrewd capture, especially when you consider the Spanish giants opted to keep Jese over Alvaro Morata last term.

Zidane has already hinted at the striker’s departure, and now reports claim he has been offered to both West Ham United and Southampton.

We would obviously be a more exciting prospect for the Spaniard, and we seriously cannot afford to get to the end of the transfer window without adding another option up front.

Reports claim the forward will be made available for £15 Million plus add-ons, with the La Liga giants keen on a buy-back clause being included, which could complicate things.

Should we pursue Jese regardless? As much as he still remains more of a prospect than a ready-made star, he does have first-team experience with one of the best teams in the world.
