Should Arsenal cut their losses on Danny Welbeck?

Danny Welbeck is claimed to be of interest to Galatasaray this summer, but should Arsenal consider his sale?

The striker joined the Gunners from Manchester United for a reported £16 Million three years ago, and has been in-and-out of the first-team ever since.

Welbeck has been blighted by injuries, missing 19 months of action of his three-year spell in North-London, with knee injuries becoming consistent issue with the forward, limiting his appearances for our club to only 49 over a three-year period.

Galatasaray have now emerged as potential suitors to sign the England international, and are believed to be willing to meet his previous price of £16 Million to make the deal happen.

Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan of the former United youngster, but even he must have concerns over his ability to stay fit, as well as the fact that all his injuries means he is less likely to meet his previous potential.

This summer we look set to get the chance to cut our losses on the 26 year-old, with the Turkish giants believed to be sounding out the striker.

Our club is linked with moves for a number of strikers in the close-season, and if one was to come in, you would think that one of Olivier Giroud or Welbeck would make way. Lucas Perez is also part of the squad, and struggling to break into the team, but Wenger has already insisted that he would like to keep the Spaniard.

For me, Welbeck is a nice option to have in the squad, but we need a top striker who is able to score 20 goals every season, and Welbeck’s highest tally of four league goals in 25 Premier League outings for one season is his best in our famous red…

If we can recoup our £16 Million fee should we sell this summer?
