Should Arsenal entertain Besiktas interest in Danny Welbeck?

Besiktas are claimed to be interested in bringing Danny Welbeck in from Arsenal this month, but should we entertain their interest?

The England international has struggled with multiple injuries since joining the club from Manchester United in a reported £16 Million deal back in 2014, and has been in-and-out of the first-team squad when proving his fitness, but has picked up seven Premier League starts so far this term, scoring three goals.

He could be set for an extended run of limited opportunities however, with Jack Wilshere commanding regular action since impressing thoroughly in the absence of Aaron Ramsey, and with the Welshman set to return from injury at present. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has also just arrived at the club, and is expected to command a key role, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is moving ever-closer to a deal which will see him join our ranks also.

The instances above may well see a system change brought in to accommodate those above, and Welbeck may well find himself being used as a back-up striker to favoured pairing PEA and Lacazette, although that partnership may be questionable given the duos strengths, especially if Olivier Giroud is demanded as part of the deal to sign the Gabon international from Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal have been having somewhat of a clear-out of late, offloading deadwood Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Francis Coquelin, and Welbeck is one player who splits opinion with his injuries and inconsistencies frustrating at times.

Besiktas are believed to be eyeing a move for him this month, albeit on a temporary basis, and Wenger has said he wishes for his forward to stay, but how much of a role do we expect Welbeck to play this term should Aubameyang come in as expected? Should Arsenal part ways with Danny?
