Should Arsenal go with Ramsey or the Ox at Man City?

It was a real shame for Arsenal and for our Wales international Aaron Ramsey, when the central midfielder picked up his latest injury during the Gunners’ thumping of Turkish club Galatasaray in the final Champions League group game. Because despite Ramsey having struggled to recapture the brilliant form that he had shown in the previous season, he was finding it and had just scored one of the best goals you will ever see.

Ramsey had also scored in the previous game so it was a massive blow for him to be back in the treatment room. As we know, the 24-year old is fit again and I am sure that Arsene Wenger would love to have a fully firing Rambo in the middle when Arsenal take on Man City later. The problem is, whether he would be fully firing or not.

No doubt the boss is going to be careful not to rush him back and so I have my doubts about him starting at the Etihad stadium in such a big game. If he had played against Stoke City last weekend I would feel differently, but Wenger wanted to give some game time to Ozil and Walcott, who have been out of action for longer than Ramsey and he had already used one sub because of the Debuchy injury.

In other circumstances I think Wenger would start with Ramsey despite the risk that he might not be fully match fit or up to speed, but at the minute he has the option of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the young England international has been in fine form, although mainly in a wide forward role. But with Giroud, Alexis and Walcott, Arsenal are well covered in attack.

I would go with the Ox in the middle against Man City, not just because of his fitness and form, but because his pace, power and work rate could be just what we need to stop Man City’s own midfielders getting at our defence. Do you agree Gooners?

  1. Ospina
    bellerin, mert, kos, monreal
    coq, ox
    walcott, cazorla, sanchez
    giroud

Either that, or drop ox/walcott for rosicky next to coquelin.

    1. Today is the Day we know if wenger buys or not………”WIN” and we got a perfect team that needs no more addition………”get a*s WHOOPED”, and we delve into the T-market to panic buy………haha! i know the drill

      1. No bad grammar from my fellow Gooners.
        Whup = beat
        whoop = shout

Football: This is no game to start Ozil. He is coming off 3 months out injured. City’s midfield is too quick to toss him in. This game calls for Ox, Rosicky, and Santi.

I have confidence in this team. City is going to go at Bellerin, but speed kills, and I know he can hold his own.

My single fear; an early goal like Stoke. Damn, that gives me nightmares.

        1. Never got this logic ozil is a professional athlete at the peak of his abilities if he is in the squad he is fit to play….also have to have best 11 players on pitch for this game…so would use cazorla as the box to box guy alongside coq and ox instead of the whippet … Only really difficult one is mert or chambers
          Ospina
          Bellerin mert/chambers kos Monreal
          Coq carzola
          Ozil
          Ox giroud Sanchez

    2. No. Rosiscky should start and switch Ox with Theo, unless you saving Rosiscky for energy later on. I would rather have the energy up front.

    1. Stuart Pearce, Neil Warnock, Harry Redknapp, all will be available in June.

      How about those guys?

  2. The OX must play ahead of Ramsey. One of our form players at the moment, full of energy and the Sanchez effect has rubbed off on him. Doubt Ramsey will have the same determination and needs time to get back to a level.

  3. Ospina
    Bellerin, Mert, Kos, Monreal
    Coq, Rosicky
    Ox, Cazorla, Sanchez
    Giroud

Nice to know we have Walcott, Ozil and Ramsay to come in if these game goes bad. If and only if Wenger uses subs before 85th min. Hoping for a Sanchez magic. COYG!!!

    1. Yes man, that is the line up I would like to see, we really cannot have Ox playing CM, he is not disciplined enough. And maybe later Ozil and Walcott could come on, we cannot depend on them for this game as they are not sharp enough.

  4. Andyarsenal am ok with ur line up infact I believe dat shud be our sheet for today .Ramsey, ozil and walcott shudnt start especially ozil.In rosicky and coquelin we have good battlers in midfield and Sanchez with the ox gives the fight in our attack bub am afraid wenger may drop Le coq for flamini.with great determination we will surely win.coyg!!!!!!

  5. We have Brighton the following week where we can ween our players coming back from injury back to the pitch. Start the Ox.

  6. Off topic
Am sorry to say buh I av mixed feelings about the return of ozil part of me is happy and the oda is worried cos personally,I prefer carzola to him as I think he I’d a better no 10 and I dont want either of them on the wings.am confused

  7. We will be behind the team, whoever starts must give all. Wenger should be focus , read the game and if the are changes needed, he must react quickly. He shouldn’t allow a situation where is being overpowered in one area without him doing anything to correct that.

  8. City have to win otherwise they slip
4/5 points behind Chelsea who they
play at Stamford Bridge next week
and if they lose there they would be 7/8 points adrift.
Twouild be remarkable if Arsenal could win this.
If we do win I would be happy if we only
sign a CB and leave DM till the summer.

    1. We have Coq and just signed the 17 yr old who is going straight into the squad, that is defensive midfield for Wenger, doubtful we will sign another.
Although I read on sky sports that Sissoko’s representatives had been in talks with us.

  9. Both. The midfield needs packing with grafters against man City.No pretty football necessary. Hard work for 90mins to suppress this lot.We can do it if where disaplined enough. No gung ho like last season.A touch of the George Graham for once.
    COYG.

  10. Ozil will only slow the game, rosicky is also a good option, i would go for

    szczesny

    chambers
    Mertesacker
    Koscielny
Monreal if Gibbs is not fit

    Le coq
    Ox

    Walcott
    Cazorla
    Alexis

    Giroud

      1. ospina is not ready against team like man shitty,a clean sheet against a weak stoke team who do bad away as well as hull (which was a cup match) is not convincing enough……………….. i believe szczesny has learned from his mistake and its the ideal match to repay

  11. Is it a hobby for Wenger to sign players at d end of every transfer Window. Am fed up of dis man, 13days more to go. I fink he will sign just Reid.

  12. Same Line Up as Stoke please Wenger…
    #3 points
    #Alexis Goals
    #Ospina Clean sheet
    #Ozil Assist
    #COYG…

    1. That pace creates chaos in the opponent’s back four. Watch closely when Ox or Rosicky runs at the back and causes panic in the box.

Ox will learn to finish this season and become the best English midfielder.

      1. …………then watch our panic when they lose possession and City by-pass our midfield with 2 passes. Today is about patience, caution and graft. Ox charging forward through the middle is for me probably the most exciting sight at Arsenal but it needs to be at the right time and with end product otherwise we will be spending all day running back toward our own goal.
