Should Arsenal profit from Mbappe’s Real move?

Real Madrid look to be upping their effort to land Kylian Mbappe for a likely World Record sum, and are believed to be looking to raise funds for his signature.

Arsenal had been linked with a surprise big-money signing of the Monaco wonderkid, with the belief that they would recoup that money when he joined Real Madrid or Barcelona in a few years time.

The Spanish giants are already looking to offload James Rodriguez, who is believed to be the subject of interest from big-spending duo Chelsea and Manchester United, and his wages would likely be beyond our current wage structure.

We don’t actually need him if we are going to keep Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, but we could do with bolstering other areas, and Mateo Kovacic is believed to be available as Real look to raise funds.

The Croatian international has started only 27 league matches since joining the club two years back in a reported €29 Million deal, and is now being offered to clubs supposedly.

Tottenham are linked as a possible destination, although I can’t imagine he would go to such a small club despite them earning consecutive entries in the Champions League for the first time in their history.

A return to Italy would likely be ruled out by his wages, and a move to the Premier League or Paris Saint-Germain would make the most sense. We could do with a proven midfielder to add to our midfield ranks, and he would be an ideal replacement for Santi Cazorla, who has already been ruled out of action for much of the campaign.

Can you think of a better replacement for Cazorla?

    1. Ya he is something special.. I have never seen a guy taking corners from both feet. He is just world class.

      1. I think hes even taken left footed penalties never mind. He’s definitely taken many left-footed free kicks, scored 1 aswell, against Lyon

  1. Kovacic would be a better buy than Isco or Koke, he’s a deeper lying player than both of the other 2. Kovacic is still the “next Modric”

    1. Honestly people who dislike this have no idea about football, Isco or Koke in our team would be ridiculous. You guys would probably be delighted with this line up
      Cech
      Bellerin Koscielny Kolasinac
      Ox Xhaka Isco Lemar
      Ozil Lacazette Sanchez

It ain’t f* fifa, thats way too offensive.. Kovacic is a much better CM than Isco or Koke, they’re both primarily CAM.

  2. Buying from Real Madrid right now is very difficult as nobody really knows their intentions. They have been shopping around for someone who will buy James and Morata. Man U wanted both and bid good money but Real kept playing hard to get. I don’t think they will have it easy selling any of their players if they continue to do business this way. My money is on PSG landing Mbappe or we get him. We are ready to pay for him right now if Monaco will sell and so is PSG.

  3. If we can raid bayern, that kid renato sanchez will make sense or Mario (the forgotten) Gotze.

  4. When Arsenal go in with £100m bids it really is a statement of intent and it demonstrates how much the club’s fortunes has improved in finsncial terms. To continue bids for mbappe shows others wanting to play in the prem we remain as a club considered among the giants of world football. Why would any “big club” be seen bidding against Real Madrid for mbappe – then after missing out on him later be see to “settle” for one of RM’s unwanted players. little to no sense going in there as a roaming predator only to come away simply being the bait. So our position is clear we want mbappe all or nothing. We’re seen to be involved in high-end shopping so it makes no sense to go for mbappe then back off and make-do with real madrid’s misfits.

    1. It would have to be a top player from RM to warrant the consideration, I think I would actually enjoy getting Bale as he can play in the Alexis role and it would be a great LOL at the spuds, look at how it hurt us when Chavski got Cesc…

I could have a bath in spud tears during derby days XD

but then again, this wouldn’t be a misfit so… You’re still right ^.^

      1. precisely, its accepting the misfits which would render us to look like ameteurs or minnows rather than the great club we are. Bale is exceptional but he has spurs dna so is unlikely to consider ever wearing afc kit.

  5. I think Arsenal should send a serious signal to the biggest clubs elite by not barking off Mbappe, then we would forget Sanchez well.

    1. I agree go all the way just to send a massage to all players that we are in the business of wining,
i don’t think Sanchez would of come to us if Ozil wasn’t with us, not because of his ability its about his stature, Arsenals chase for Mbappe is sending shock waves to the footballing world its been ages since Arsenal was taken seriously as a big club for a long time

  6. Cazorla will not be replaced, we will have to find a slightly different style of CM partnership than the one of Cazorla and Coquelin.

This sucks but it doesn’t mean we can’t have a dominating CM still, Vieira and Gilberto Silva was a different combination so there is more than 1 way to build a solid CM.

Ramsey could do this role if he remembers to defend with as much urgency as he has for attacking, he did for a short period alongside Arteta and he was putting in more tackles than Arteta, we was dominating for that short period. Great potential but frustrating, should be realizing that potential by now 🙁

Oh and Ramsey has fitness concerns (to put politely) .

Maybe the Ox could? But again he hasn’t shown to be robust, injuries are not a stranger to the young man so could we rely upon him to cover an injury prone Ramsey???

This makes me think of Fabinho, his experience at RB and CM gives a nice blend for the B2B role.

If we do sign a player for that area then it would hinder the Ox… So I am thinking it might be best to sell The Ox and use the money towards a player who is not so injury prone. We can promote M-Niles to be cover for RWB and let’s not forget that Fabinho could also cover that spot in emergencies and would be a way to keep him match sharp.

This way we would have 3 players capable of playing RWB and we would have 1 less player in the squad (Debuchy, Jenks and Ox replaced by Fabinho and promoted youth M-Niles).

We could have 3 players capable of LWB in the form of Seo, Monreal and Gibbs.

Both of those has a player capable of playing a primary alternative role (Monreal as CB, Fabinho as CM)…

Could aid in giving depth for the long season.

  7. Something special about Arsenal; you always get at least a special player in every generation. Bergkamp , Henry, Santi…you can’t get such players anywhere. Matteo is also good, if we can’t get Mbappe, let’s get kovacic from RM for a considerable fee. Give him game time, and Madrid will want him back for £100…
