Should Arsenal risk Ramsey against Man City?

Arsene Wenger has stated that he has worries over the fitness of Aaron Ramsey following his groin injury, and is unlikely to field him in the League Cup final come Sunday.

The Welshman has been amongst our most consistent performers this season, and bagged his first senior hat/trick this month also, but has failed to feature since due to a groin issue.

Ramsey is now confirmed to be missing for tomorrow’s Europa League second-leg tie with Ostersund, and remains unlikely to feature on Sunday also.

“It is a little bit sensitive case because we expected him to be a bit further in his development of the groin problem and he doesn’t move forward as quickly as we expected it,” he said.

“Today we would say that certainly he will not be available even for the next game against Ostersunds.

“Maybe for the cup final, we don’t know yet, it depends how he will progress from now.”

Ramsey would have been a huge loss had it not been for the return to form of Jack Wilshere, who may well have found himself starting ahead of his Welsh counterpart even had he been fit.

The possibility remains that both players could play in a makeshift 4-5-1 formation, but Alex Iwobi may well get a place in the side for the cup final in Ramsey’s absence.

Do we need both Ramsey and Wilshere in the team to cause City real problems? Would Ramsey have been ahead of Jack for Sunday’s line-up?
