At last the most unsecret Arsenal transfer of the summer is finally coming to fruition, as it has been confirmed by Sky that Sokratis Papastathopoulos is here for his medical.

Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has arrived in the UK to finalise his transfer to Arsenal, according to Sky sources.
Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed last week that a deal for the Greece international was close and an official announcement of his signing is expected soon.
The 30-year-old, who has won 79 caps for his country, looks set to become Unai Emery’s third major signing of the summer.
So now we have Benrd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner and now Sokratis to give a much-needed boost to our defence. With Calum Chambers being given a new contract extension, do Arsenal still need to bring in any more defenders?

Signing these over the hill or near done defenders is not so exciting but it is also better than nothing. Unai seems to be trying to address our problem areas. Wenger had given up on strengthening us due to have “The I did not zee it” syndrome or was just due to pure ego, arrogance and Pride etc..
We will be looking for new defenders soon due to the ages we are signing.

Great game, Brazil’s quality just shone stronger overall. Lozano needs a bit more decisive decision making but was still one of mexicos best players and Arsenal need a direct winger. Would love it if we got him, he has huge potential. Brazil just too good in end and are very solid defensively. Well played tho Mexico.
These signings have been made by the trinity and are obviously within the financial constraints Arsenal is operating under. It is up to Unai Emety to build the team ethos and develop his style of play. Hopefully the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts and with improved defense Arsenal will be good!
