Some very welcome news for Arsenal fans to celebrate

Talisman Alexandre Lacazette will be back from injury sooner than thought

It is being reported that Alexandre Lacazette could be back in full training with the first-team next week.

The Frenchman has already been sidelined for five weeks. It was thought it would be a few weeks yet before we saw him back in action.

However, according to sources cited by ESPNFC, Lacazette has been working hard with the club to get back to full fitness. The 28-year-old has been wearing a protective boot to protect his right ankle and working closely with the clubs physios.

As things stand today, according to those sources, Lacazette is expected to join the first-team squad next week for normal training.

If all goes well we could see Laca back in the mix to face Sheffield United on October 21st. In all fairness, Lacazette was expected back in October but the thinking was it would be later in the month.

Lacazette came off after an hour against Tottenham and the seriousness of the injury became known. He has not been seen since and has been missed.

Considering the next eight Premier League games do not involve a top-six side this is perfect timing for Emery. It means he will have a fully fit squad at his disposal, probably for the first time in his tenure.

This is a great opportunity for Arsenal and Emery to lay down a marker and the manager could not be better prepared.
