Flamengo is looking forward to the return of Pablo Mari as he struggles for game time at Arsenal.
The Spaniard was one of the first players to join the club when Mikel Arteta became manager.
However, the Gunners have since signed better defenders like Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes.
He now struggles to play, but his former club, Flamengo, wants to rescue him.
Fichajes.net reports they are keen to have him back in their squad but would struggle to pay his current wages.
They remain open to the idea of signing him if the economics of the transfer change.
Just Arsenal Opinion
Mari was in good form at the start of his career at the Emirates, and his ability to play from the back made him one of Arteta’s most trusted men.
However, the former Manchester City man has since fallen down the pecking order, and he is a long way from returning to the starting XI.
Arsenal will keep strengthening their squad, and the best option for him would be to leave the club.
However, the Gunners might have to be generous enough to pay some of his wages before he can move to Flamengo.
Mari is still a useful squad member for now, and we can play him in early rounds of cup competitions.
