This could still be a great season …..if Wenger leaves!

This could still be our best season in years!…If Arsene leaves…‏ by KM

Hello you rich Arsenal fans that will pay the money for this article right here! Well you know what, like the Arsenal board who were so generous in not increasing ticket prices for season holders, I’ll sneak you this one for free alright? I mean I’ll delay my new flat building by doing so, but it’s ok.

So Arsene doesn’t think we should’ve lost that Watford game. I feel like the best team won. The one with a game plan to counter the strengths of the other. The team which improved their second half performance. Ighalo and Deeny didn’t put two good passes between them in the first half, but in the second they did and Ighalo scored, but Deeny assisted twice.

Arsene doesn’t know why we lose and it’s exactly the problem. We are predictable, we always play 4-5-1, the line up is pretty predictable too, and we repeat the same mistakes over and over again. We played exactly like we did against United, Swansea, Chelsea, Stoke even Hull.

And I’m bored, just like Arsene. Bored of the excuses, the inability to score, the lack of desire and fire in the hearts of the players, the same tactics, the same players that are not good enough. The lack of transfer activities, the lack of leaders, the lack of care from anybody about the league position we take or the lack of interest in fans opinions.

The continuous bad results are starting to pile misery on Arsene and it has resulted in boos, banners, polls opting for his head, disruption among the fans, empty seats, fans leaving 10 minutes before the games are over and so on.

Honestly, whatever the method is, it doesn’t matter as long as the message is sent out. The media are speaking of whether or not the time has come to part ways with Wenger, the bookies drop the coefficients for a new manager. And where there is smoke, there is fire.

We missed on Pep, Klopp and Ancelotti, but options are available. Looking at how Klopp is shaping up at Liverpool I’m really sad we missed on him. Next season they’ll be a serious threat! So what’s left out there.

Manuel Pellegrini – I don’t think he’ll be a major improvement, but still he has won the title.

Brendan Rodgers – he almost got an average Liverpool squad the title, but fell apart. But some of the transfers were forced on him, so I think the blame has to be shared.

Diego Simeone – An unbelievable manager. A motivator, a hard working man that lifted Atletico to the levels of Barcelona and Real Madrid. This alone is a sensation. He won the title at the Nou Camp, was seconds away from lifting the Champions league and is just the type of character Arsenal has been missing for a while. Atletico will hardly let him leave though, otherwise missing on him would be a criminal offence.

Jose Mourinho – make no mistake, this is still one of the worlds best managers and given the opportunity to win Arsenal the title and mock Arsene even more, he’ll take it at the right price. A scandalous figure, who’s methods of winning are every sort of bad you can imagine, he’s still somebody that would take us to a new level and I would get him right away if Simeone isn’t available.

Frank De Boer – another name lurking around, doing miracles at Ajax, De Boer is an interesting young coach, but is he the man to lead us forward? I’d take him over Wenger as this goes for all the managers on this list though.

Ronald Koeman – the man is doing an incredible job at Southampton. They got sold out, they were favourites to go down, instead they finished in the top 8 and despite their defenders being picked out – Lovren, Clyne, Alderweireld, they still have a formidable defence. He’s the best realistic shot of the lot I see.

The names of Steve Bould and Thierry Henry also sniff around but look at Gary Neville at Valencia. As romantic as an old player full of trophies sounds, as a manager it is an entirely different story. The matter of fact is, options are there.

If we change Wenger we might go into a bad spell just like Man United. I am well aware of that, but there’s nothing to be afraid of. It’ll be just the price we are paying for having one man become the entire team. If we plan smart though, this can be avoided.

The inevitable CL exit and a potential hammering from Barca could be a good thing. The noises Wenger is ignoring are getting attention slowly but surely at the end they will result in a change. Aaron Ramsey went to Wenger’s defence saying he is shocked people want him sacked, but of course he’d say that.

If a good manager comes in, would he put up with the likes of Giroud, Walcott and Ramsey who are not good enough? Some players hit the gold mine at Arsenal just like Wenger, and sit on enormous salaries that don’t match their talent and if he goes, they’ll be doomed too.

Wenger is in a fight for the top 4, not the league. What’s saving him is the fact that Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool are so bad. And I’m not saying this to be negative. I just got over the fact we’ll not win it, because history, the stats, the way we play and practically everything suggests that.

It’s the biggest summer of a decade. With nothing to hide behind the marching orders could be coming and it’ll be the biggest win of the season we can realistically achieve.

    1. yes Wenger has to go.
I will give a few reasons and signs of criminal bad management.

1 giving perpetual crocks contracts of over £100,000 per week . League winners basically play throughout the season with same players. All fit and ready to go.

2 Handing fat contracts to average players and spent players. Since these players are overpaid( won the lottery) , they lack the drive or incentive to achieve . Top players like Ronaldo and Messi continuously optimise themselves . They gym and the pitch to them is like heading to the toilet to have a wee .

3 persisting with these average or championship level players even though you can tell from their trajectory that they will not amount to much.

4 tying up squad places with players who will never kick a ball over the course of a season

      5 Buying bargain basement players

6 overspending on the so called players of the future when what we need are players of today

7 treating transfer windows and the fans with disdain . A few load deals in January , even from the championship, would have given us the bodies and quality we needed to push for the leagues . Unless you are one of those who think there are no better players than chambers, ox and Theo in the championship

8 A coach who has devolved into a man with an obvious lack of ambition. Someone who is ready to sacrifice his reputation for a few silver from Kroenke. The £8 million a year is more important to him than trophies and his legacy

9 Lack of openness to fresh ideas .

10 our youth set up is stale and as archaic as Wenger himself . The quality in man city and Chelsea youth set up , are leagues ahead of ours . that Dutch kid ( fullback )on the right against Watford was one of those quality players .

11 refusal to sign a top striker to complement Ozil . Ighalo ,a first level ,third rate striker( Giroud is a last level 3rd rate ) ,exposed what we lack . He singlehandedly terrorised our entire back line all game . imagine Ozil behind Ighalo.

Wenger is reminds me of the situation when you have to go to a party . You think you have a lot of clothes in your wardrobe .On the day , you check your wardrobe only to realise that you have been hoarding rags . Clothes with holes , trousers too short and shirts with torn pockets .
Wenger has turned into a serial hoarder of bad and average players . He thinks they are good enough but everybody can see they aren’t better than mid table teams if you remove 3 players . We have seen those average players lose to championship teams this season . We have seen them lose 13 times already this season .
A massive clear out of the closet is needed.
I doubt Wenger can see this problem and this is why he has to go .

    2. dailystar: “Arsene Wenger fears he could be forced to walk away from the club if supporters continue to protest.”

God, i hope thats true. sounds its clear we have to keep protesting and double down. kroenke and wenger: parasites, feeding and enriching themselves on the arsenal brand.

  1. Wenger should have left the club with grace when he won the fa club. from now on it will be only down the hill.

Klopp was arsene to dortmund, the club said to him that he could even send Borrusia in the second devision, and they still would not think about sacking him.

Klopp saw that he could not progress any further with the bvb and left the club for some new. That someone new is a no name and he is doing very good. See what diff a new manager can make in a club who wants to progress? Guardiola does the same. Whenever he hits a hight, he leaves with grace.

But compared to the Bvb and Klopp Arsenal is slightly diff. Arsenal is not football club at first and then a business, but the other way around. And thats our misery. Our main objective is making cash. You all have heard the American b…..rd say it without a problem.

Wenger now. He is a great manager, but before he is a football manager he is a perfect moneymaker first, a salesman. Business mand and then football manager. That again is our misery in having Wenger around.

As long as the board takes the fans for granted, and care only about the money, fans have to endure Wenger and co. Wenger cant be sacked bec Wenger is the puppet master in all this. He has turned to powerfull. How can Ivan speak ill of his performance when Wenger alone brought him at Arsenal. How can Stan speak against Wenger when he is loughis his ***ass off how much money he makes for him.

Look at Chelsea. they might be a b000ard club, but the main share holder cares for the club, and does everything to make everything right, even sacking his most succesfull manager in morinhio.

To fight the board, arsene must be taken out first, bec not like Klopp, he thinks that he is good enough, in making money, and delivering quality football. the second part in which he completly failed, and there for he should have the grace to admit defeat and leave the hands to a new manager who might turn things around like he did years ago. if the new manager turns into a money maker scarecrow, then there will be noe one to save the board from the fans. coyg

    1. It doesn’t matter how you all whine about it, but Arsene is not getting sacked. There’s two reasons for that….1) the arsenal board want a manager that can make some money for them, and Wenger is their man, we all know that.

      2) I’ll say this again, if a team creates around 4 scoring chances each time they play, there is no way u can say the manager doesn’t do his job. Also, you reflect back to the manner at which we lose games, it has nothing to do with Wenger’s incompetence, y’all have to face it. looking back at the latest defeat, the 1st goal was just down to clumsy defending, Chambers, Per, Gab were all caught napping. The 2nd one, wasn’t his fault either…hats off to that watford guy for the goal. Apart from that, how many chances did we miss that day?

The swansea game…the referee happened! a clear foul on ozil wasn’t called, and it led to a Swansea goal…could we blame wenger for that?. Against United, a poor clearance from Gab fell right in front of Rashford who fired home..Wenger’s fault? sencond goal, rashford was left unmarked in an area dominated by red arsenal shirts..Wenger’s fault?. 3rd goal, a harmless Herrera shot deflected past Cech…wenger’s fault?

      1. gunnerphyte: absolutely not. yes, given 4 chances one should be put away. but wenger selected those players; a no-name called giroud to spearhead our attack for last few years. and giroud is an emotional player that chokes and can miss sitters all day long. wenger has bargain-hunted and found marginal players who cost little but are on the border of acceptability. we dont want that. we want players that are well over the threshold. like the old arsenal: players who were exciting to watch. not just those that you wish could score once from 4 or 10 tries. wenger bought chambers when if he’d cough up the money, he could have had worldclass defenders — they always come running at the sound of money.
wenger decided to settle for mediocre defenders and forwards (except ozil/sanchez/cech).

in the last 3 weeks something new has come up. i think wenger didnt manage his players anxieties and they choked on all the expectation. they are 20-something years old. the manager should manage these young adults , calm them, focus them. none of that appears to be happening.

  2. If he leaves then the number of suicide incidences and cases among our fans globally will drop and those that have and were going to develop heart conditions and blood pressures will also drop drastically.THIS IS MORE THAN A PLUS!

    1. That is the silliest comment I have heard today! So what about Chelsea and Man-united fans? Are they all on Prozac as well?

It’s a game at the end of the day…..

      1. Admin i suggest you withdraw the word ‘silliest’ that u’ve just used against me and moderate it with a better word…you seem to be obsessed with bashing the anti-wenger majority!

        1. You think I’m obsessed, but its okay for you to suggest that Arsene Wenger is the cause of worldwide suicides and heart problems?
This site is for sensible discussion not childish propoganda.

      2. Those 2 teams have won the league and champions league in the last 10 years. They also take the risk in the transfer market in order to continuously optimise their squad.
One of the pros of getting a new manager is the clearance of dead weight .
This happens to be Van gaal ‘s biggest achievements . Also somethings certain mr Wenger did when he first arrived.

  3. He should go, he’s fooled us for the last 10 yrs.said we couldn’t compete with the wealth of Chelsea, City and United and now that we have the money and the known big boys are shit, Leicester are in for the title with a budget less than a quarter of what we spend. What will he say now, backtrack on his words that Leicester are to win it b’se they have cheap players? Enough of the excuses.

  4. What Leicester have proved is that as long as you assemble the right players, it doesn’t matter how much you spend on them, Atletico Madrid did that 2 years ago in Laliga. Wenger however couldn’t assemble a plethora of competent players but with ridiculous signings like Chamakh, Squillaci, Gervinho, Santos, Park Ju Young, Sylvester etc whereas the talented ones like Nasri, Arshavin lacked the desire to fight for the title which primarily Wenger’s fault.

    1. Chamakh was good when he arrived, from memory RVP was injured and Chamakh had scored 11 or 12 goals in competetive games by november. He then did not much after that.

He was first player to score in six consecutive CL games. Scored 8 goals in 9 consecutive CL matches. Scored Arsenals fastest goal, 37 seconds from start of play.

Hardly a “ridiculous signing” more a question of “what went wrong”, possibly not enough stamina to last whole PL season.

Could ask the same about Arshavin, awesome when he arrived but then faded away (remember the crowd singing, we have Arshavin f*** Adebayour), he was a real favourite of the fans. It ended with the crowd booing when Arshavin was substituted for the Ox.

These two signings mystify me as to why they did not maintain their initial promise, whose fault was it, the players, the club, Wenger? I do not know

      1. Van piersie came back from injury and Wenger dropped him . He never came back after that .
Wenger is set in his way . Even if a striker scores a first half hat trick with Arsenal leading 8-0 , Wenger will keep him on the pitch and not give the back up a chance .
Wenger destroyed Arsharvin by playing him on the wings so that his favourite pet projects ( Ramsey and Wilshere) can play CM . They were so abject that they were outshone and outclassed by the DM ( Alex Song ) in the middle.
Neither of them have created much or scored much since they started playing for Arsenal .

  5. Personally i’d have love it if Pochettino replaced Wenger as he proved how good a manager he is at Southampton and Tottenham so far. We need a good and young manager with fresh ideas, a manager who will utilize each player’s ability to create a solid team and that is honestly Pochettino.
Realistically i’d say De Boer or Koeman then again, we all know Wenger isn’t leaving until at least next year. I predict he will actually spend this summer and go all out next season for it will definitely be his last.

  6. If this Nonsense continues next season , this is how it will look like

    chelski: New manager, New players

    Manure: New manager, New players

    Citeh: New manager, New players

PooL: A year old manager, New players

spuds: An improved manager, New additions

Foxes: Manager of the season (A revelation) ,Barclay money, New additions

Gunners: Yea……Outdated manager, physically/mentally deranged squad , No outfield player, Money for the board, 4th place scramble and UCL spot claimaint!

    1. soopa: i suspect kroenke’s threshold is missing out on CL. only if we miss out , then he’ll do something. only if kroenke perceives a monetary threat will he do something.

  7. Nice article Konstantin!

I think it is important that we find a way to stand together and not as lone fractions; that way our voice will be louder.

  8. How to put pressure on Stan, the Board and by association Wengers position.

A basic guide on grabbing both the Arsenal Board’s or perhaps more importantly the Medias attention. Remember the fuss 1 banner made!

    1. Stop buying Arsenal merchandise

    2. Stop attending matches (watch the box instead). Scrap the season ticket or if ad hoc visitor to Emirates go to less games, miss just home games…

The more sacrifice made in greater numbers will have the most impact.

    3. If you can’t stay away from a match but want Stan and his ‘Moneyball’ winning isn’t important mentality  then make a banner or buy one:

    HTeeTeePee://www.vistaprint.co.uk/banners.aspx?txi=14919&xnid=AllProductsPage_Banners+(linked+item)_Signs+%26+Banners_All+Products&xnav=AllProductsPage

    A 76cm X 366cm pvc plastic banner costs £29.99 (chip in with friends?) or a 52cm X 91cm banner costs just £5.99.

What to put on it? Some suggestions:

    SOS USAMOV
    Football NOT Moneyball
    SAVE OUR CLUB
    STAN OUT
    AFC. MORE THAN A BRAND
    ON YOUR HORSE STAN
    FOOTBALL FOR FANS, NOT STANS

    Be creative…

    4. Protest (peacefully) outside of stadium on or outside of match days. Get connected with other Fans who want to see the back of Stan and ORGANISE.

(Thanks to redDb10) this could also be missing the first 5-10 minutes of a match by waiting outside the stadium in protest.

    5. Voice your concerns on social media and share your activities (Twitter/Facebook/blogs etc..)

Doesn’t seem like we have the power to do much but it’s all about the numbers. If AFC fans make a stand together we can effect the running of our club by raising awareness of our plight.

You must ACT as talking alone will achieve nothing. So if you really love the Arsenal DO something that will either A. Hurt the pockets or B. Get some attention to the cause (in a peaceful and  controlled way).

Stan Kroenke see us as nothing more than one of several sporting investments, none of which have had any real success since his involvement. Stan not only doesn’t put anything into the club but takes money out of the club under the pretence of ‘strategic consultancy services’ and is more interested in Moneyball than football.

Like he said himself, he wouldn’t of got involved if it was about winning championships!

    1. I myself will not attend anymore matches until Stan and Wenger are gone as has the Brand (business) before football philosophy that threatens our club.

I will not be buying my 5 yr old son his first Arsenal kit for the coming season but will instead give him the option of an English or Spanish kit (I’m uk/wife Spanish). I think I know his choice already..

Little sacrifices I have decided to make and if we could all do our part then things may just change.

Then hopefully their will be the real Arsenal Football Club to return to one day instead of some Starbucks like Sporting franchise.

  9. I’m giving Wenger until we are mathematical ly out or win the pl. If we don’t win, I will unhappily join the Wenger out brigade. If we win I will happily eat humble pie.

Imagine if Wenger had bought outfielders last summer especially a consistent decent goal scorer and decent DM like Martinez and Krychowiak for example . That would not have bankrupt us.

  10. Wonderful article. I just can’t believe that there are still some Arsenal fans who still want wenger to say. How?? Why??Can any one of them please explain why they still think he is the right man for the job?? Am listening…

  11. You can write and demonstrate all you like fellow Arsenal supporters but the truth is wenger will be going no where. Why? Because he hasn’t the decency to resign and the board don’t have the nads to sack him. So next year it will be the same old same old, pure dung while the board just keeps raking the money in at our expense.

    1. BUR: God, I hope not. even wenger and the board have to have a limit somewhere? we need to continue putting banners until we can force change. wenger is like a limpet : stuck strongly to the brand and 8M.

  12. We are meeting Brca tomorrow we need to be strong with our team rather than this negativity and bringing the house down

    1. summerbreez: we are arsenal fans. not arsene fans.

we’re talking about fixing things that have been getting broken 5 years.

one game is not the point . if we can replace wenger (and wow, even kroenke), it’ll be 10x better for many barca games in the future.

  13. Painful article to read but a lot resonates (not the Brendon Rogers or Jose bit though!)

“Bored” is a perfect description for most Gooners I know. Not angry. Not disappointed. Just bored at the same old, same old in the PL and CL.

And this kills me to say (I really wanted to see Wenger ride off into the sunset on a high) but I think most are prepared for a dip in form to see a chance for something different. One step back and two steps forward

  14. There’s only One Arsene Wenger.

    He’s not going anywhere.

I hope the same can’t be said about Walcott, Wilshere, and possibly Chamberlain..

Its players that let us down not Wenger.

Unlike all you want… i will not get into debates with people who think Arsène Wenger is a bad football manager. You Piers Morgan types are also whats hurting the team with your yoyo views putting pressure on the team even when results r going well. This is not support when u diss someone u praised last week or month.

    Fickle.

  15. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard when I saw the names of the potential replacements. Brendan Rodgers? Mourinho? Konstantin, you’re either a clown, or simply an idiot. Perhaps a little bit of both. Rodgers got lucky with Suarez, and Sturridge both healthy, fit, and in-form at the same time. As soon as Suarez left, and Sturridge got injured, he got exposed for a fraud of a manager that he is. And Mourinho?! Have you been on a desert island for the last decade or so? Not only he’s a temporary fix, and not a long term solution for ANY club, but the history between him, Wenger, Arsenal, and our fans have been … ummm… a bit difficult to say the least. There will be WAR if he ever becomes Arsenal’s manager, and I assure you that he will not.
