Swansea v Arsenal Review – Comedy defending from the Gunners seals a Swans win

You would have thought that Arsenal would have been feeling confident after beating Chelsea in midweek, and with Swansea being right down the had a of the League, but it didn’t look like that in the first 15 minutes. Swansea had far more of the ball than Arsenal and looked much more dangerous, and in the 15th minute they had a very close penalty claim, which would normally be given against Arsenal lol.

But it was denied and Arsenal went straight down the other end and had a shout of their own, but there was no way that Lee Mason could give that one so quickly after denying Swansea. A quarter of the way through the game, Arsenal had much more possession as usual but hadn’t tested Fabianski once, while Swansea have had 3 good chances. On 26 minutes they cut through the Arsenal defence again but Elneny (who seems to be a defender today!) cuts it out, and from the corner Mawson smashed a shot that went just wide of Cech’s post.

Then we straight down the other end and Iwobi gets our best chance of the game but Fabianski denied him at the post. but finally on the half hour, a lovely cross from Mesut Ozil finds that man again Nacho Monreal at the far post and he slots it past our old reserve keeper. Arsenal take the lead, probably against the run of play.

Swansea put their heads down and and within five mins drew level when our defence was split open again and left Clucas one-on-one with Cech, and suddenly the Swans were back in the game. 1-1 – typical Arsenal! The game is looking a bit too open for my liking…

The rain continues to pour down and there are likely to be more errors in this gam, but can we just get to half-time without conceding? Arsenal seemed to be trying to be more precise with their passing and hold on to the ball longer, but the first time they give it away Fer runs through to Cech’s goal but his shot was a bit weak to get past our big Number One.

Swansea defended in numbers but are always looking for a quick break, but close to the end of the first half Xhaka tried one of his trademark long shots but was well over the bar, so it goes in half-time at 1-1 and it is still all to play for. Arsenal had 70% possession in the first half, but Swansea had 7 attempts to Arsenal’s 5. No change there then!

The second half starts with Swansea happy to relax in numbers in defence and are closing down wherever the ball is with an Arenal player, and Arsenal are caped in the opponents half but with little penetration. But when Swansea get out of their half they are going straight for the jugular. h 30 minutes left Arsenal are trying to find room in the packed Swansea area but Ozil just gets off a weak shot, while Mkhitaryan is warming up at last. Maybe he could find a way through…

He comes on to replace Elneny, who has actually been one of our best players but could be tiring and has been booked. But what a start he gets as within the next minute Arsenal go behind when Cech completely mishits an easy clearance and it goes straight to Ayew just a few metres out and even Iwobi couldn-t miss from there! Arsenal are looking like having another nightmare on the road, and can you believe that is the first time the Swans have scored two goals this season!

Arsenal needed to step up the tempo and its a shame our first chance went to Iwobi who shoots far over the bar. Wenger must be getting worried as he has Giroud warming up. But we can-t sacrifice a defender with Swansea looking so dangerous on the break…

Swansea are looking much more confident and get a great place for a free kick when Bellerin gets a silly booking, and when it came into the box Cech looked to be flapping again. The defence is incredibly nervous and Dyer is given a golden chance to make it 3/1 but just shoots a tiny bit wide. I hope they regret that but we need a bit of magic from our forwards very soon…

Arsenal are trying though and Mhki gets his first chance for Arsenal but he didn-t have any power on a perfect cross from Ozil, but was offside anyway. So with 15 minutes to go Wenger brings on Giroud in desperation and removes Iwobi at last. Can he save us one last time before leaving tomorrow, possibly ?and we would probably be happy with a point right at that moment.

Swansea are tired and digging in in their final quarter while Arsenal try to find a way through the forest of players, but time ticks away and and the Swans keeping their shape, which seems to work very well.

On 8 minutes to go Ramsey gets a free header as the pressure builds but it is just a tiny bit high for him, but there were little gaps appearing in the bus. But Swansea break again, and another awful clearance from Monreal this time, allows Ayew a chance to power into the box and Clucas somehow pokes it in and makes it 3-1. Arsenal have surely run out of time and we have more proof that Arsenal can’t play away from the Emirates. Oh and our defenders are looking ike the Keystone Kops this season…

You couldn’t make it up, and with Tottenham and Man City coming up in the next four weeks, we can probably see any chance of the Top Four receding rapidly into the distance unless Aubameyang can perform miracles…

Cannot win against a bottom table team? Humiliating.

    – Lacazette: He should be able to get the ball from the midfield, because he doesn’t get enough supply. If he keeps following Wenger’s instructions to stay in the front to wait for the ball, he could end up like Walcott.

    – Ozil: He made the assist to Monreal and then he gave the ball to Swansea to score the equalizer. He cannot keep the ball for too long, usually gets robbed or outmuscled by a stronger opponent, that is why he keeps passing the ball after just one or two touches. Definitely not worth 300K per week.

    – Iwobi: Not useful tonight.

    – Ramsey: He saved Arsenal’s ass with his crucial tackle and then he almost made Swansea lead because he got robbed.

    – Xhaka: Not mobile at all. Needs to improve his performance ASAP, otherwise he could get shipped at the end of this season.

    – Elneny, Mustafi and Koscielny: They have made Ayew looked like Messi.

    – Monreal: He scored well, but he made the wrong decision when throwing the ball to Mustafi.

    – Bellerin: Spirited but no penetration.

    – Cech: Silly mistake. Should be replaced next season.

    – Giroud: He smiled at half time, he must be thinking that he can finally move on from Wenger’s system.

    – Mkhitaryan: Showed great skills and willingness to take on the defenders, but not enough to help Arsenal tonight.

The team lacks creativity and penetration from the wings. Aubameyang would be isolated like Lacazette, because he cannot drop deep to get the ball from the midfield like Sanchez, Hazard, Salah, Mane, Neymar or Messi.

Arsenal should find explosive inverted wingers that can cut inside and dribble well, like Salah, Mane, Sterling and Sane. If Wenger is still at Arsenal next season, it would be useless to have Aubameyang, Lacazette, Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Xhaka in the squad.

    1. Muff diver says:

      Swansea are a quality side
      World class players like dyer

Ppl don’t complain when we lose to Barcelona
      So be reasonable …..

      1. Alatari Douglas says:

        WTF are u saying?

        1. John Ibrahim says:

          swansea beat liverfool

we dominate but the second goal killed us

    2. nero says:

you love long stories…summery is that wenger is a blind finished bat…it so obvious that the foolish ticka ticka can never work for arsenal and they keep passing to no end…its common sense that a pitch soaked with water will even make passing harder, yet they insisted on passing, till arsenal passed the ball into cechs net

      iwobi is useless
ive always said bellerin, is a liability..nothing he does but give away cheap reasons for refs to give cheap penalty
cech is useless…its hard how people at arsenal havent sen this for years
      xaka uselss
lacazette..the more time he spends at the arsenal the more useless he will be
wenger is dumb..and will make aubamayang dumber…you have players that are faster than the opositions defence, why not play to their speed and streghth, but you insist on tiki taka

      1. Yun says:

        Spot on mate

        1. Handyandy1 says:

Our defence is sh*t and nothing’s ever done to get a leader in. You never see anyone shouting at the back, it’s all too polite. It’s been like this for blo*dy ages and we’re wetting our panties at the prospect of another forward! We’re barking up the wrong tree.

      2. Arsenal Fan says:

Just hope the dinosaur goes at the end of the season and takes the garbage he puts out on the field with him otherwise it’s going to get a lot worse than it is already.

        1. Welsh_Ramsey says:

The good news is much of his deadwood favorites have been pushed out. He’ll be the last piece of this terrible puzzle to go. Hopefully we can make a real change in the right direction afterwards with a manager who, for starters, will play players in their correct positions and start those who warrant to be playing (iwobi, Xhaka)

    3. mikey says:

Really hope this is Wengers last season. this inconsistency is killing us.

  2. Roy says:

Arsenal and Wenger – absolute s**t

    1. Muff diver says:

Wenger is the best manager ever

      1. Alatari Douglas says:

        Ur crazy, Wenger is finished….

        1. Arsenal Fan says:

Wenger was finished 10 years ago imo.

  3. Innit says:

Embarrassing to say the least innit

  4. GB says:

I have not seen such a pile of pooh since I looked in the toilet this morning. Everyone is blaming Wenger but unless he is telling them not to shoot from outside the box or cross from the wings into the box then every player is a fukcing demented tosser and as for Czech, words fail me!

    1. Arsenal Fan says:

Wenger is the manager too right he getting blamed and rightly so.The players do what he tells them end of.Everything you see on the pitch is Wengers doing so dont make out that he is not to blame please because he will be here for another 20 years if Wenger is excused from being blamed.

  5. Otunba007 says:

I said Cech has been one of our problems these season, we weren’t playing well but we were in a good position until he gave them that second goal, he’s been shocking for the past 2 seasons and I think I prefer Martinez to him or ospina, he’s a better goal keeper than the both of them this season

  6. Uzi Ozil says:

We made Ayew and Swansea look like Messi and Barcelona..

That defense today was poor and abysmal
    Cech… OH Cech.

Even with Abu, miki ozil and laca, I feel this team will struggle big time under Wenger. The defense is a problem.

Swansea almost wrapped the game in the first half. We are in trouble!

    1. gotanidea says:

I think Arsenal cannot get rid of Wenger because they might have to pay him gratitude of one month salary for every year he served Arsenal. So if it is 666,666 multiplied by 21 years = 14,000,000 !

      1. Alkali says:

Arsenal fans can contribute and send him out if that’s the reason they are keeping him. I donate £100

        1. Gratuity is always paid out at the end of every contract.. so as far as I know Arsenal only owes him 2 years worth of gratuity..

  7. Salmonella says:

3 wins in 13 away games
Good luck for the rest of the season

        You said Wednesday!!

    2. Handyandy1 says:

yeah, whats happened to the thumbs?

  9. Roy says:

Can we please go back to Highbury , sell the flats and bomb the Emirates.

    1. Muff diver says:

      Haha haha haha haha

      Amazing comment

    2. Sue says:

      Highbury…. those were the days….. sigh ?

      1. Aussie Jack says:

Never been worth watching since they left. I`m an old man now but I cherish the days right back to 1947 when as a kid I first came to live at Highbury.

    3. Elliot says:

I was ready to destroy most of my living room until i read that, thank you Roy ?

  10. John0711 says:

    Where are the AKB supporters
We don’t need strikers we need a DM possibly 2 and we’ve needed them for as long as I can remember

    Need to be released

Do not allow wenger to spend any money

    1. Greg says:

Dont forget mustafi needs to go also!

  11. Greg says:

    Mustafi was crap!!!!

    1. gotanidea says:

Both central defenders often lost in duels and speed. Hopefully this Mavropanos guy is not a weakling like them.

  12. ThirdManJW says:

I’d love to hear from the fans that have been slagging off Sanchez! Since he’s not been involved in the match day squad. it’s played 4, won 2, lost 2, both defeats in away games against rubbish teams.

Clearly Sanchez was not the problem. Without him we now have NO ONE who can do something special on their own to dig the team out of a horrible performance. I kept saying that Sanchez has been carrying this team since he’s been here.

How Wenger doesn’t get the sack after this is beyond me!

    1. Sue says:

How he wasn’t sacked after the Forest game was beyond me!

      1. Jan says:

How he wasnt sacked years ago is beyond me!

      2. Arsenal Fan says:

How he wasn’t sacked after the 8-2 against utd still baffles me till this day, nevermind the forest result.

    2. gotanidea says:

Arsenal definitely lost his creative sparks. Mkhitaryan does not have his ambition and tenacity, but I hope he can offer other things.

Maybe Arsenal cannot sack Wenger because they might have to pay him gratitude of one month salary for every year he served Arsenal? So if it is 666,666 multiplied by 21 years = 14,000,000 !

      1. ThirdManJW says:

        Haha. Yeah penny pinching again!

      2. Timberwolf says:

Maybe thumbs up/down are not back yet coz we might have to thumb you down every time you post the same comment. To be fair I would rather see Wenger leaving for 14 million than jonny Evans coming in for 28

    3. mikey says:

Our system we play is the problem, everyone saying our defence is crap and i partially agree, but we need to defend as a team, the midfielders also need to contribute when it comes to defending and our defending at set plays are very poor.

  13. Ronny says:

2.1 is one thing but 3.1 inexcusable.
Only postive I can see is Wenger has got to finish in May surely.
Watched 49 unbeaten the other day…..Pires, reyes fabregas, vieranot rvp etc all better than any one player we currently have.
How the fook is that possible and acceptable!?
AS clearly cannot motivate the team or they are all dreaming of the man in black and yellow.
Comes to something when Jack who people were saying sell him he’s cracked too slow etc looks by far out most creative threat and sorely missed.
    Ozils gone!!!

  14. isaaclys says:

Not trying to put all the blame on xhaka but what a shitty player he is. Absolutely useless. Could never understand why we would spend £35m on this crap instead of getting a proper DM to protect our back 4. Kante only cost Chelsea £32m. Shocking.

  15. Innit says:

The lineup from the beginning was absolute b******s (sorry for cursing). Even @ blind man could have seen how bad it was.
    We need a DEFENSE!
    They WERE last place
Now they are OUT of the bottom 3 thanks to us.

    1. Maks says:

We need better manager who will put in more offensive side against bottom PL team.

  16. Alkali says:

???? same old same old, moreal was below par today, had a hand in 2 goals against arsenal.
The game was flat and we desperately need proper wingers, dm, rb,lb,gk and two defenders. That’s 8 new players plus aubameyang. That’s upwards of 400m.

    1. Maks says:

Yes, Nacho can lost himself sometimes… why he left that ball to go out of play and then throw it to
Mustafi who is known by panicing…

  17. Lupe says:

Wenger will end up creating a club where players will only sign contracts because of money or players will only join because of money i.e ozil and aubameyang. I don’t see any reason why a top player will want to play for this club at the moment, or maybe if they are hardcore fans like us and its their dream. Wenger please just leave, let a new manager take is forward!!

  18. OxInTheBox says:

pathetic. no other top 6 team would have let their manager stay after those kind of displays.
we should forget about top 4 and start thinking about next season. play AMN and Nelson so they gain experience, prepare to buy 4-5 top players coming in the summer.
    sell iwobi, xhaka, elneni.
    wenger out.

  19. Elliot says:

Wow. Yep, lets buy more strikers! You f××king kidding?

  20. Sue says:

I just expect us to lose now…..
I know as a football fan you have ups & downs, but ffs it’s nearly every week!! Our defence is terrible.. we’ve conceded so many!! Our gk is a complete donkey!! Our midfield is awful!! When will it end?? ?
    We’ve been a joke for years now…

  21. jack says:

i thought we played well and were unlucky, all the wenger outs dyu really think we could attract the likes of aubemayang without him? who would you get to replace him, support the team we just beat chelsea ffs and were unlucky tonight

    1. Muff diver says:

I agree we are building a team like Bayern or barca

      Xhaka Mustafa elneny
      Xavi iniesta and pique

Arsenal best team ever are BACK

      1. GB says:

Unlucky! Are you having a laugh?
No one crosses the ball into the box.
        No one cuts it back.
        No one can tackle.
No one shoots from more than two yards.
        The keeper is shit.
        No one cares!

    2. Dennis Moriarty says:

Ridiculous comment and shameful too. There are better managers than Wenger, it’s the likes of you that help keep this old fool in a job. Grow up.

      1. John0711 says:

        He’s joking chill dude

    3. Elliot says:

Unlucky? I think you meant embarrassing! Anyone with a brain can see we were absolute s××t!

    4. Kroenke Out says:

jack …jack…jack why do you do this to yourself? It’s a shame.

What happened to you when you were a child? There is no reason to resist using your own braincells, try it.

Btw, Wenger is not attracting Auba, Money is. Whereas Klopp attracted Ox who took a pay cut to be there.

Mourinho, Klopp, Guardiola, Pochettino, Conte are all more attractive to players then Wenger.

Most players are in their early twenties the last time Arsene won a PL they were babies.

    5. Joe says:

We attract them because they are rejects coming to finish there careers at arsenal, is not because of wenger.

  22. L says:

let’s face it… Laca is not any better than Podolski

    1. Muff diver says:

Laca is best player in lique 1 history
Soon to be better than henry

      1. John Wick says:

Haha better than Henry ? That’s an understatement I think Lacazette is in the same bracket of pele, maradona and leo Messi probably slightly better than Messi though ? Alex Iwobi is a different animal all together makes CR7 look like the fox in the box Jeffers ?

  23. Maks says:

It s not just the defending… it s bloody Wenger s tacticts with 8 players in starting 11 who can not penetrate forward against the last team in PL.
When I spoted golden triangle of Ramsey Xhaka and Elneny I was already desperate… and Iwobi who had to be benched 3 games before… Jesus how Wenger made me hate him.
Ozil was only one trying something but has nobody to play with until Mkhi came in but it was too late… bloody players were already tired… and Ramsey again… he can lick Jack s boots, bloody Wengers captain. We were missing Jack and why we have to suffer every single transfer window? Why we didnt buy Auba already and that he plays tonight? Aaaaarghhhh

  24. Tank T says:

I enjoy watching my Arsenal classics up-to 2010! I refuse to be hurt by what’s going on with my team. Dropping the mic. Peace.

  25. isaaclys says:

maybe im the only one.. but I MISS SANTI SO BAD
it hurts my eyes watching Xhaka and Iwobi play

  26. James says:

We e let more goals in that the bottom side wba , joke

  27. Innit says:

How on earth could Wenger look at the team sheet, see Iwobi, Eleny, Xhaka and say ‘we got this’?
We disrespected Swansea and they blew us away.
No disrespect to these 3 guys but they need to go …Eleny, Xhaka, Iwobi AFTER Wenger. Wenger is the first person who needs to go
    Shameful display

    1. Maks says:

What? And Ramsey was great? Please tell me, what position he played today? How many times he passed ball towards their goal? How many times he did put himself infront of their goal what his lovers like to call a virtue. Shitty meta captain of shitty manager!

    2. Alatari Douglas says:

All these players u mentioned shld stay cos it’s not theif fault that we lost today. The manager got his tactics wrong & he has been doing this for a long time now. You don’t play every opponent with the same tactics. Since discovered that Swansea drops deep & waits for the counter, can’t u change ur formation to suit what they are up to? A lot of managers face this & they always find a way to overcome it, only Wenger doesn’t & it will always be a problem for Arsenal FC. We need a new & sound manager who knows how to read games & get results asap or we wld be doomed forever. Our manager has nothing to offer literally.

  28. jack says:

plastic fans, we can still get top 4 and europa league semis at least if we go on a run, and then everyone will be saying what a great season it is

    1. Innit says:

Are you a troll, a Spurs fan or both? lol

    2. Sue says:

We never go on a good run!!

    3. Dennis Moriarty says:

      Turn it in!

    4. RSH says:

haha europa semis doesnt help us. That’s no a trophy. Typical AKB loser mentality.

      1. bran911 says:

These AKBs are the ones destroying this club with their old sugar daddy.. Europa semis is what? Better than winning EPL? They never accept that Wenger is finished and he’s the one who brings the team down with him

    5. AB says:

I think Jack is the new hire of wenger (after SamP) who gets paid to write good stuff about wenger.

  29. GanjaMan says:

Jesus we’re still in January and we have 3 to 4 months left of this. Easily the worst of the top 6 teams since losing to Man Utd at home. I respect Wenger as a man but to think now how fans were calling Gazidis all kinds of vile names because he wanted Wenger gone makes it even more clear for me who the real issue is. THE MANAGER and his hand picked players. The appointments of Mislintat and Sanllehi shows me who really has this clubs best interests at heart. At this rate our ONLY hope of Champions League is by winning the Europa League. This is not The Arsenal I grew up loving.

    1. Sue says:

I don’t think I can stomach another 4 months of this! Not the arsenal I grew up loving either

      1. GanjaMan says:

I feel for the die hards that travel to every game home and away and actually pay their hard earn money to watch this. I don’t even live in the Country and I’m pissed just for them alone. Correct me if I’m wrong but the trip from London to the Liberty Stadium isn’t exactly a quick turnaround either is it?

        1. Sue says:

Must be love travelling to every away game!
It’s quite a trek yes, those poor sods

          1. GanjaMan says:

            Bless them!

        2. Phil says:

I’ve just got back to Hampshire and have to be up at 4.30am to catch a 6am train into London.Have I done this before?Yes like thousands of others. Will I continue to do it?Yes like thousands of others.Am I humiliated to lose after the team put in a performance like that?Of course I am.
The pounding we took from Andy Bernstein and Jason Cundy on the radio as we were driving home is getting more and more commonplace. The selection was only going to escape criticism if we won.The performance was inexcusable. How much longer must Zhaka continue to play this badly before he is dropped? When will Bellerin take on and beat his man like he did consistently when he first got in the team. How can a talentless plodder like Iwobi even be near the first team of any premiership club?Ramsey?Clearly unfit and kept on going but continually failed to get any urgency or pace into the game.
We have just lost one of our two best players. Can you really see Ozil wanting to stay at a club that is not even treading water.
How many Swansea players would get into our first team squad of 25?None yet they were coached by a STOPGAP MANAGER and deservedly beat a side that although not at full strength was clearly on paper superior.Who does the blame lie with?WENGER.
Forest Watford Bournemouth Swansea WBA the list is growing by the game.To be able to defend against Chelski (after the first 10 minutes)and put in a solid if unspectacular performance and then to perform like we did tonight is totally unacceptable.
It’s been a long day and we will have more and more of these afternoons and evenings until that decrepit out of date has been is gone.Wenger just do the decent thing at the end of this season and GO

  30. Dammy says:

This team is so useless .
Iwobi is obviously not premier league material
Mustafi is so wack , I wonder how he manages to get called up to the national team.
Kos career has been over for the past two season but we still keep relying on him.
Cech is obviously not good anymore but Mr wenger keeps playing him .
Monreal always struggle to defend against pace but because I manages to get some luck goals , he can’t be dropped.
Ramsey and xhaka should please leave the club .
As for wenger , he is just so clueless , he has had more than a week to prepare for this game but that doesn’t even help matters..
We are definitely not going to make top four or win the europa league..

    1. Maks says:

I agree with everything but what can we do… be patient. Wait for Xhaka to fall on THC test and Ramsey to get hamstring again (at least 2 times per season), and Jack to get well, and Ozil to sign a new one (why would he?), and Wenger to finally frack off from the club.

  31. The cassette says:

Window closes tomorrow if i’m not mistaken..surely there must be somebody we can swap Wenger with?

  32. Rkw says:

The wenger kool aid crowd have gone quiet again … Of course … Krish n chips and his absurd brand of Panglossian commentary, postman pat’s drooling over the invincibles and the guy who fondly recalls how bad we were 40 years ago … Just acknowledge the sad reality of where wenger has led us and join those calling for him to GO

    1. bran911 says:

They are waiting for 1 narrow win in the next game to come back and mock us again

  33. Aussie Jack says:

  34. Edu says:

Even if we buy messi and Ronaldo Arsenal will still be crap with Wenger in charge. he has lost the plot.

  35. Ronny says:

    Jack son of Arsene?
Fair play if you’re right but don’t call us plastic even if we do make top 4 who gives a cr*p I’d rather we played well and fought hard in a concentrated manner than run around like clowns week after week scraping 1 nils.
International players brought together and play like league 2 players when in red and white.
Can’t hide behind sanchez rocking the boat now can we?!

  36. Dudu says:

Xhaka and Ramsey shouldn’t be playing together,Ramsey don’t understand his position all he care is to score………i miss jack tonight

  37. Innit says:

Can we trade Wenger with Ancelloti or Simione or Allegri?
Hell right now Id take a chance on Henry

    1. John Ibrahim says:

wenger will not be here for long

you should still stick with Fifa18

      1. John0711 says:

Your a AKB so be quite tonight

  38. Ox says:

As muff said don’t be harsh we lost to world class players like dyer hahaha love it

  39. Ox says:

As muff said don’t be harsh we lost to world class players like dyer hahaha love it

  40. OxInTheBox says:

    season over.
start build ANM and Nelson as starters.
buy 4 panic buys tomorrow, they can’t be worse than the ones we have- even retired kalstrum will be an upgrade

  41. Gary Parker says:

How can Swansea have better tactics, more desire , more ideas than Arsenal?

What do Wenger and Boulder day after that.
If they had any respect for the club , the fans they should resign,

I just think We are garbage and getting worse

    A depressed Gary

    1. Innit says:

      You and me too bud
I had a couple of tears come out
      That was brutal

      1. Gary Parker says:

We are simply going nowhere with this set up, why we don’t just demonstrate by not going on Saturday is beyond me even Simple Stan our chief shareholder would notice that ?

        Woeful woeful Arsenal

Changed my mind we can’t even demonstrate properly so …….

        Night all

  42. Gunnerforlife says:

Terrible performance !!! Our defenders were absolute joke.

  43. Bur says:

Bottom of the league stuff Arsenal????? if it’s not so serious it would be hilarious. ??

  44. Arsenalislife says:

Are we stuck with Wenger just because there is an excuse for him that he helped the club grow and build a new stadium? Our mediocrity is tied to that logic people.

  45. Shinoda says:

This match was really frustrating. It was a clear indication that it doesn’t matter who we buy or sell, the manager is still the problem. Xhaka is pure shit, the guy just stands & watches opposing players go past him & he’s most of the times passing sideways or backwards. Anyway, I can’t blame these players when the only constant is the manager. Wenger should simply just resign, or get fired. He’s getting worse by the day & it won’t end well for him at all. I wanted him to succeed this season but he is beyond salvation. Let’s just hope that the board & Kroenke will grow some balls. God bless our Arsenal.

  46. Ronny says:

49 unbeaten to this, sad and embarrassing so embarrassing 🙁

    1. Sue says:

      It is really embarrassing Ronny

  47. Gunnerforlife says:

Wenger is obselete. We shall DELETE !!!

  48. jack says:

perspective tho, swansea have been doing well under their new manager and just beat liverpool, overall we can still have a good season

    1. AWout says:

Yes….as long as we don’t get relegated and than definitely a good season.

    2. GanjaMan says:

Doesn’t matter if they had Pep there, there’s a reason why they are where they are in the table. We just always come around with free handouts. Just quickly go on Arsenal.com and see how many benefited from our generosity. It’s like Christmas all year round for the opposition teams.

  49. ks-gunner says:

Gentleman, one knows from the start that this game could be easily be lost due of the line up. I dont know what else to say as, get uset it, bec things wont change for quit a long time =(

  50. Dudu says:

Wenger should be given new contract…..
Xhaka xhaka oh my God, who ever scouted xhaka for us must go to jail.

  51. GanjaMan says:

How can a man so old and experienced be so shameless?

  52. Dudu says:

Wenger should be given new contract…..
Xhaka xhaka oh my God, who ever scouted xhaka for us must go to jail.

  53. RSH says:

hehe… get all the players you want, but Wenger is still the one sinking the ship. Stop trying to patch the holes and deal with the real problem.

  54. jon fox says:

I really hope P-EA does NOT join us for two reasons. First he is a rotten apple which destroys team spirit. Second because I want our team to finish miles behind fourth place to ensure Wengers sacking. More displays like tonight at Swansea are badly needed to cure the first cancerous tumour , Wenger, and see him off . Then we must work against the foul owner and this will be the real battle. This season has been a write off for months already and I predicted a 2-1defeat tonight. But even worse/ better than I thought. Anyone waiting and hoping for results to improve, then first help get Wenger out. If he stays we just get worse each season and that is obvious to anyone with eyes and a brain.

    1. John Wick says:

Definitely mate, it’s sad to say but we must hit rock bottom to get this moron out of the club.. don’t worry though we’re almost there you know your scraping the bottom of the barrel when Alex Iwobi is your main winger.. I really hope we don’t win league cup because you and I know that will be another Wenger life line.. I’m willing to sacrifice trophies to see the back of Wenger that’s how bad it’s got. I couldn’t care less who comes in or doesn’t come in tomorrow with a man like Wenger pulling the strings doesn’t make a blind bit of difference!

  55. Ronny says:

Yep the happiest arsenal players I’d guess are currently the precious ones sanchez, walcott and ox, it must a breath of fresh air to see how other teams and managers in the pl do it.

  56. Drayton says:

Is it just me, or do we have more “illness” absences than the rest of the league combined? Where was Wilshere?! It seems we never have our real starting XI playing. I don’t understand it. That said, we shouldn’t be losing this game, but it’s clear the positive effect Wilshere has had on our creativity and on Xhaka. We drop more points to “stomach bugs” than I’ve ever seen! F***in man up and play!

  57. Greg says:

    Shameful gutless performance!

  58. xbox says:

    Wake Up….. Open result
OMG Curse of Ramsey is back…

    from S.E.A region

  59. Arsenal Fan says:

There is still too much deadwood at the club which needs to be cleared starting with WENGER.Too many cra p to average players.

  60. Hernan says:

Cech made a lot mistakes and nobody said nothing but when Ospina make one mistake all the fans said a lot bad things about him. The fans never remember that Cech was on the bench when he was buy by Arsenal and his performance season by season is badly.
Ospina deserve a chance to be number one and play more regular games.

    1. RSH says:

I have to agree. Cech is finished, Ospina has really only made on horrendous mistake. Summer time comes, we need a new GK in general though.

  61. Rkw says:

Wenger questions confidence of players … Wtf .. If there is one basic job for the 8m quid man it’s to instill confidence in players .. So basically he is questioning himself … DO THE RIGHT THING U DELUSIONAL FOOL AND GO

  62. Tom says:

Posession football under the guidance of A. Wenger.
If you have 60% Posession you suspect you will give away some chances, but you will obtain far more. Or so the theory goes.

In truth in today’s football world it doesn’t work quite like that.
If in a gladiators ring you are in the middle surrounded by hungry Lions, you can fend them off as a group who are tightly packed together, giving nothing away. When the time rises, you pounce through their unexpecting stance and make for the door.

Football is the same. The difference is still focused on attack. What makes possession football work is not if your defence holds strong and concentrate – but if your attack is clinical. If the attack is blunt (like the Lions teeth), than your opponents hold strong in defence better and attack when the time is right. If your teeth are Sharpe than you kill without mercy.

Arsenal are looking to buy Auba. Great, much needed. Today other than Laca who is a natural goal scorer, I don’t see Ramsay, Ozil, Iwobi or anyone else starting as goal scorers. I see them as ppl who could score.
Compare that to City with Aurego, Gabriel, Sterling, De Buyne- all starters, all goal scorers.

So the issue with AFC? We can’t be ruthless in attack atm

  63. John Ibrahim says:

its must be wengers fault for monreal throwing the ball to mustafic.

it must be wengers for cechs error…

if things dont go to the fans way..its wengers fault

but none of the fans are willing to take out their billions and make it right

think its better for fans to juz support city

    1. Arsenal Fan says:

Thats the problem, game in game out they make errors but Wenger doesnt sort it out so yes damn right its his fault. If you had a business would you let your workers make costly errors on a regular basis and let them get away with it?I think not because you be bankrupt in no time.

      1. John Ibrahim says:

        then do something….

either 50,000 fans start protesting with empty stadium

or take billions out, buy the club , sack the manger release the 25 man squad and sign 25 world class players

        1. Kroenke Out says:

Why dont you do something? Oh I forgot you are actually happy with this .

    2. RSH says:

Always seems to happen to Arsenal players. It’s been over a decade of sloppy play. Wonder why this stuff happens way less often to Mourinho and Guardiola teams? Maybe because they actually have discipline and the right mentality? Arsenal players are infected with losing mentality. When the going gets tough, they’re finished. Despite what Wilshere or Elneny post online,we see them giving up, not putting in all their effort. Some are just not good enough, and some of these problems have been around for ages and are consistent problems in Wenger’s squads for over a decade now. We’re not getting any closer to EPL title man, we’re getting so much worse.

    3. RSH says:

Arsene cannot motivate teams, does not improve players at the rate he used to, puts out bad lineups, bad subs. Consistently everyone in the damn club loses the plot in Jan-March period! But Wenger will rally the troops around late April to make himself look good at the end of the year and stop the full blown protests. It’s not good enough, and if you think it is, then you are loyal to Wenger and don’t care about the club actually winning and fighting with the best in Europe. Arsenal can be so much better than it is right now. Stop being afraid of change. Life WILL continue without Wenger.

  64. jakseth says:

why does this team look like less of a team every year? i really don’t think players are the problem here. it’s a system, preparation issue.

  65. V.uren says:

Thank you arsene … I was actually getting excited about tomorrow’s deadline day and the potential arrival of aubameyang.

Now it won’t matter if he comes or not , how can you get excited about any of this tripe we are being subjected to ???

What other so called big club in world football would put up with this ??? I don’t get it , why is he immune from getting sacked ???

Can they not see there is something fundamentally wrong with us …

Sign auba , sign Evans … Jesus , you could sign messi tomorrow , it won’t make a blind bit of difference , we will still be terrible !

  66. Welsh_Ramsey says:

God that was about as poor as we can get, were lucky it was Swansea and not one of the big boys. Where to start… Why Iwobi? Has his past recent games not been enough to show you hes playing like shit? Of course Wenger wont drop him for some reason beyond common sense. Welbeck would have been more useful since he’ll actually put a shift in defensively and is more likely to grab a goal.. Let that sink in.. Welbeck is a bigger goal threat than Iwobi. It might be time to cut our losses with Xhaka. Never gives those long balls like last season, has progressively gotten worse in every aspect from defending to simple passing. If Niles cant get a chance there now than he might as well push for a new club because obviously Wenger has no plans to give him game time in his natural position. Playing with Ramsey, Ozil, Elneny, Xhaka.. wheres the width on the wings? Cech was poor, not more to say about that. Kos and Mustafi putting in a shocker. Id like to think Kolasinac would finally make it into the lineup after that shit performance from our defenders, but its Wenger so expect the same back 4 out there next game, or Elneny coming in at Center Back. Even with Auba coming in, the same problem will exist not only defensively, but our one dimensional attack. everyone cutting in to the center congesting it and sideways passing. Even when we win the ball against the run of play, we sideways pass and let the get numbers behind the ball. Missing a DM and minimum one Centerback.

  67. Mobella says:

I think someone should please take Wenger out for our sake since Stan refuses to sack him. We need saving from him. I would have done it myself but I’m far away in Africa. Any volunteer????. Come here to complain to ourselves and saying the same thing is not going to help us.

  68. wenger in says:

from beating chelsea sudden down lose to swansea, and people moaning wenger out after before cheering him HAHAHAHAHAA

  69. John Ibrahim says:

nothing new….we always lose to swansea away

  70. Ozilla says:

One word – Xhaka!! What does he even do?? The first goal was 100% his fault for simply walking away from the attacker. That then gives Swansea motivation and now our goal does nothing to lower their confidence. F*** off Xhaka

  71. King says:

3 Match 3 Goal Monreal need to coach Lacazette, Iwobi & Welbeck. Giroud played his last match for Arsenal. Seriously.! Move Lacazette to Wing if Aubameyang in. Or play 2 striker.

  72. King says:

We have stopped feeding Barcelona. Now, we feeding EPL. MU, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, etc. They hunting us now. I Know, its a part of transfer process IN and OUT. But, not Our Best players.

    1. GB says:

We fed Barca again yesterday with an excellent prospect.

      1. Maks says:

        It’s warmer in Catalonia.

  73. AB says:

Don’t understand why people still say that Wenger should go at the end of the season. He should be sacked now. Like every night going to bed with the dream of waking up to the nEws of Wenger sacking.

  74. Novbe says:

Admin please #bringback the thumbs up and down. It seems its the only time we get to see transparency, equity, real quality now as fans of Arsenal… Pls i beg you with the love of football!

  75. Gary Parker says:

We have to see Wenger and bould sacked

    Kroenke is clueless

Gazidis still not sure who he reports to !
