Szczesny preparing for Arsenal exit

After years and years of the Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny saying that he was an Arsenal man for life and wanted to stay here for his whole career, it now seems that he has finally realised that there is now no future for him at the Emirates.

He reluctantly moved to Roma on loan last year and after a rocky start he now seems to have gained the trust of his new manager and it looks like he is hoping that they will make his loan move into a permanent deal for next season.

When Szczesny was asked where he will be next season he replied: ‘Will I stay at Roma? For me, football always comes first,’

‘I have the confidence of everyone here.

‘When you have the trust of your teammates, the Coach and the fans, as well as playing every Sunday, then that can only be for the best.

‘Obviously it’s not just thanks to me, but everyone who has helped me.’

With Petr Cech now firmly established as Arsenal’s Number One for the forseeable future, and David Ospina settled into the role of understudy, it would only seem prudent for Szczesny to make the break from Arsenal. Arsene Wenger seems very happy with both the present keepers, and with his new policy of not changing a winning side I can see Ospina staying in the starting XI from now until he makes a big enough error for Cech to be brought back in.

Do we all agree that is time to say goodbye to Szczesny?
