The 3 players on Arsenal´s January transfer wish list?

Well we are not even a third of the way through this second international break of the season and I for one am impatiently waiting for Arsenal’s next game which is at home to Swansea City in the Premier League next Saturday. There are some (hopefully) vaguely interesting international games for us to watch but really we are just killing time at the minute.

So I thought I may as well look ahead to what may be to come for Arsenal as the season moves on. Of course we are hoping that the Gunners can continue the recent good form and keep winning games. If we do then it could be a very happy christmas for us.

There is a good chance of Arsenal topping our Champions League group for the first time in years and even if the likes of Man City and Tottenham do not suffer a big slump to allow us to build a good lead, we should at least be able to keep in touch with the top of the Premier League.

However the next couple of months go, the January transfer window could be crucial, so which positions and players should Arsene Wenger be looking at? Any injury problems that occur between now and then could force the Frenchman into the market but I am going to assume that we have no long term absentees when the window opens.

For me that would leave us a strong defence, even if the rumours about Mertesacker possibly leaving come true. The only area I would look at there is right back. After Bellerin we have Debuchy and Jenkinson but there is definite room for improvement.

Central midfield looks strong but after Ozil there is not a lot of competition or cover for the number 10 role, so that could be a possible bit of transfer action. Then of course we have the age old striker issue. Will Wenger be looking for another centre forward? If Giroud does not do some great work before January I would think he has to?

If our manager agrees and is looking for a right back, a number 10 and a striker, which players would you want Arsenal to sign?

  1. Oxlade Chamberlain talking BS about not being picked by England being a ‘wake up call’. Guy is so lazy yet he finds himself in the mix in the Arsenal squad.

  2. I doubt that Wenger will be looking to sign anymore players during January, unless half the squad end up in the treatment room.

    In other news :
Apparently, Arsenal fc have more money in the bank than Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich combined lol ?

I read that Ozil and Sanchez are demanding £250,000 a week to renew their contacts…. Goodluck to them. ?

  3. We should try to put a cheeky bid for Isco. I don’t think we will sign any player in January unless major injuries happen. I am very happy with our squad even though I was crying out loud for a world class striker but it’s all good. Let’s see if mr Wenger tries to make a bid for Isco.

  4. There is a lot of talk in the media so much is being generated these days just as Arsenal is doing ok all the old tricks are back to destabilize the changing room and make supporters edgy we need to watch out on these jabs and remain united and protected to keep this unity going forward step by step round by round until we grab the champions cup

  5. We will get Greizmann, Hummels and Lewandowski in January. 100% guaranteed according to my personal contact in Bellview Hospital., New York

  6. if Alexis adapts perfectly to the top9 role, we might only need upgrade on the left flank, that is a LB of WorldClass status or close to replace Monreal or/and a LWF of WorldClass status.

ideally.. Alaba,Griezmann realistically Ricardo Rodriguez and Marco Reus.

  7. We should target a right back / wing back, confidence is not high in Jenks and Debuc, both have done ok but neither are up to Bellerin’s standard. The same can be said on the left about Gibbs who so far this season has done well but still falls short on the class meter and with Debuchy not getting any younger but not quite past it yet, another right back will have to be brought into the squad at some point not necessarily January. Ozil is a different problem, we have an abundance of midfielders, Santi can play there, Ramsey If Wenger allows it, he did well for Wales so I cannot see Wenger buying class competition for Ozil.
