Arsenal recently improved the contract terms of Leandro Trossard, recognising his importance to the squad at the Emirates. The Belgian has made a significant impact since joining the club from Brighton and has become one of the attackers that Mikel Arteta relies upon most heavily.
Despite the additions to Arsenal’s attacking options during this transfer window, Trossard’s role within the team remains secure. While some reports have suggested that the arrival of Eberechi Eze could affect his standing or potentially push him down the pecking order, Arteta appears committed to retaining him. His experience and versatility make him a valuable asset for integrating with the club’s newer signings, ensuring balance across the squad.
The Reason Behind the Contract Improvement
The improved contract terms reflect Arsenal’s recognition of Trossard’s contributions rather than signalling a change in his long-term plans. According to The Athletic, the deal did not extend his tenure at the club but enhanced his earnings, rewarding him for consistent performances and his importance to the team. The club’s decision highlights how highly Arteta values his presence and the role he plays in both the dressing room and on the pitch.
Trossard’s ability to adapt, perform in multiple positions across the attack, and provide leadership for younger players has been instrumental in the squad’s development. His professionalism and consistent displays have earned him the trust of his manager, while also making him a key figure in maintaining squad harmony during periods of transition and reinforcement.

Trossard’s Role in the Squad
With his improved contract, Trossard is expected to continue being a central figure in Arsenal’s plans this season. His experience will prove essential in supporting new arrivals, helping them settle quickly and ensuring that the team functions effectively as a cohesive unit. The contract upgrade underlines that the club sees him as a long-term contributor, capable of influencing results while mentoring younger teammates.
For Arsenal, the decision represents a balance between rewarding proven talent and managing the integration of new stars into the squad. Trossard’s improvement is a clear statement that the club values commitment, quality, and experience, recognising him as one of the standout servants in recent seasons.

Unfortunately this will make him unsellable asset and he will sit out the contract until hes 32,5 years old.
I thought we wouldve learned about selling players at the right time and for Trossard it was this summer.
Hes done well but 9/10 our players fade into obscurity when they enter final 2 years of their contract. Especially when theyre near or +30.
This sentimentality is the reason Arsenal cant sell well.
Fair points.I would have thought the imminent arrival of Eze would further limit the game time of Trossard?
But we don’t know what salary he was on or what his new salary is so….
Think the management is showing emphaty and that’s real class from the club.
Let’s not forget it’s a long and grueling campaign ahead, all hands are needed on deck.
What we have learnt in recent times, is how paramount a huge squad is.
Well, according to the salarysport.com site it’s £5,720,000 per year prior to any raise and has been at that level since he joined the club. There’s no indication what the new salary is.
Well according to the recent report Arsenal are the 2nd most valuable club in the world after RM…so I am guessing those at the club know what they’re doing
Also if we sell in Jan once new players are fully integrated then he has dome his job and we will potentially get a bigger fee as less players available in rhat window
Smart business all around
“Arsenal are the 2nd most valuable club in the world” – interesting, and good to read from an Arsenal perspective of course, but I think it relates to squad value, not the overall value of the club.
On the latter metric, Arsenal is usually 8th in the top ten (on the Forbes “rich list” for example). The likes of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, City, Bayern Munich etc. are all more valuable than Arsenal – some far more.
I’m never really sure how to take these valuations in a practical way though. I guess it means if Arsenal sold every player they’d have the second biggest amount of money of any football team in the world from those sales – but no players.
There are multiple valuation methods which can be used for the business.
He is still a decent impact player when used as a sub, especially when defenders are tiring
a pay rise is deserved but his game time will decrease. Perhaps the new contract is to safeguard a selling fee in January 2026 to a Saudi suitor.
If the worst comes to the worst, we can always sell him to Fulham , so he can stay in London and socialize with Saka Odegaard and Havertz.
We haven’t managed to sell Reiss Nelson to Fulham yet so let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.
Until Arsenal improve their wage paying strategy regarding fringe players and giving rises to players who are not even extending their contracts, then Arsenal are going to continue to struggle getting players out the door.
Good luck Mr Berta, your going to need it. I hope you are a practiced Magician, I think your going to need to be. 🤦♂️
For those talking about him being sold now, do yall realize how difficult it is to get a player of his ability and versatility without paying crazy money? Last season proved that we need as many options in attack as possible, and trossard is one of them. If we’re going to be competing on all fronts, we need experienced and reliable players like trossard. I think increasing his wages also will help him be satisfied with not playing so much, so there isn’t disharmony in the squad. So we keep a player who might not play as often this season, but will be available to contribute to a long season in case of injuries and suspensions? Works for me
100 percent agree with you.
He has been a great signing for us.
Scored some important goals.
No problem with trossard or gyokores, more concern on Declain Rice games during the kick off with M.U, he is the most unsettled player than the others on the field that night..
