Mikel Arteta has hinted that Arsenal will have more business to complete this summer as they look to add new faces to their squad before the new season gets underway.
The Gunners have just signed Bruno Guimaraes, representing another major addition after their pursuit of Vinicius Junior ended without a deal. Arsenal now have to focus on securing top-quality players because their squad is already strong, meaning they cannot afford to make signings that fail to improve the team.
Arsenal Continue to Pursue More Quality
With that in mind, the Gunners can only continue trying to land as many suitable players as possible. In recent weeks, they have been working to strengthen their squad and ensure they have enough quality and depth to compete at the highest level.
Arteta is proud of the team he currently has, but the Arsenal manager wants more additions before the transfer window closes. The club will continue exploring opportunities to improve the squad, although completing further deals will depend on several factors outside their control.
Arteta Confirms Arsenal Transfer Ambition
Arteta made it clear that Arsenal remain active in the transfer market and are determined to take advantage of opportunities to improve their squad. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
“There is more that we want to do because every time we have an opportunity to improve the squad and bring more quality and depth to the squad, we need to do that.
“We are actively trying to do so. The thing in the market is that it doesn’t just depend on you. We are very clear on that.
“But the approach, the will and the desire of the club, that’s unquestionable. We want to try to do that. But we cannot promise that we’re going to do it because it doesn’t only depend on us.”
Arteta’s comments suggest Arsenal will continue searching for opportunities to strengthen before the window closes. The Gunners have already added Guimaraes, but the manager believes further improvements are possible.
Arsenal will therefore remain active in the market as they assess potential additions. While Arteta cannot guarantee that more players will arrive, the club’s determination to improve the squad remains clear.

Can’t believe we’re stuck with Martinelli for another season aaaaargh
Remember when Martinelli was banging them in a few years ago? That was when he had Xhaka in left midfield. We never replaced that dynamic. It’s quite possible that Guimaraes boosts Martinelli’s output again.
We also have a new player in Tzolis who has been looking good in preseason.
As for Rogers, spending an English transfer record amount for a rotation player, even if they’re really good, doesn’t really make sense. Chelsea just need him WAY more than us.
Rodgers and Anderson of City are completely over priced and i suspect this will become evident as the season unfolds.Martinelli has not developed as I had hoped, but nobody works harder off the ball for Arsenal than he does.He has ,effectively ,become an extra midfielder who provides an extra layer of protection for our back four by his willingness to track back,This is an area where he is well ahead of Saka and Madueke yet he never seems to get the credit he deserves.
I assume City spent so much for Anderson because they are expecting Rodri to leave this window. Secondly, they are low on homegrown players, so it was one of the few opportunities to get a long term player at the sort of level they want.
Similar issues for Chelsea, they look to also be at the margins when it comes to homegrown player levels.
