This is your Readers Arsenal XI, but you must help to fix it!

We had you, our readers, vote in our polls to help us find the fans favoured starting line-up, but we ended up with a problem.

Alexis Sanchez has been voted to take both the striker role, and an attacking midfield role, and unfortunately we only have one of him!

The Chilean has been growing into his new central role this term, and is gradually beginning to shine, forcing Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez to ponder what they will have to do to break into the first-team.

This has led to confusion within our fans XI, as a large number of you voted for him to star in our attacking three, as well as up front, and we ask for to make the decision on Alexis’ final place within our team.

Voting remains open on each of our positions while we clear the places up, with some slots closely contended for currently, with Cech not dominating his number one spot as much as expected, and with Alexis’ replacement within the squad also yet to be determined.

If you would like to cast your vote on any of the various positions, the team is yet to be finalised.

Cast your votes here:
Goalkeeper
Centre-back pairing
Midfield duo
Behind the striker
Centre forward

But most importantly, answer this one to help us clear up our final XI.

Is Alexis most important to us as an advanced midfielder or centre-forward?

  • Striker (55%, 445 Votes)
  • Advanced midfielder (45%, 365 Votes)

Total Voters: 810

Alexis has of course helped us to get our season on track whilst starring in the central role, but he has also shown impressive ability in behind the striker, and we do not yet know how much improvement he can make in his new role.

Does Alexis’ dominance of two spots show weakness in our squad, or simply highlight Sanchez’s importance?

  1. I think Alexis should return to the wings and Perez should start up front. Alexis doesn’t play as a striker and I feel he occupies positions Ozi should be at. I think it’ll make little difference to Alexis whether he’s played as a CAM, ST, LW or RW! Alexis is scoring not because he’s been played as a striker but simply because he’s in form!

    1. Sanchez on form? ? You’re having a laugh mate.?
ATM he is playing like a shadow of his old self.?

  2. Stick Walcott in there and you will have the team that Wenger has being more or less starting with anyway. ?
Which is basically what I predicted would happen with this pointless poll vote. ??

  3. On ‘CURRENT FORM’, I repeat ‘CURRENT FORM’, my 11 would be:

    Ospinna
    Bellerin, Mustaphi, Koscielny, Gibbs
    Xhaka, Coquelin
    Santi
    Walcott, Sanchez, Iwobi.

  4. Best way to play teams like Burnley who pack the bus is to get 3 of our best players Alexis, Ozil and Iwobi play the quick passing game from the wings thereby drawing 5 players from the opposition to them leaving the other end of the pitch open for a long ball towards an on-rushing player (Bellerin or Monreal) to pounce on and probably score themselves or a pass to any available midfielders to pounce and shot. Barcelona does it all the time with Messi, Neymar and Iniesta.

  5. where in the world are these people from this site come from. we have won some close game on I’m happy for that.but i hate to say this giroud is still our best option up front antill perez proven other wise im not convince by Sanchez playing upfront so far.because he limit our potential to score from crosses inside the box
