Leandro Trossard may have played his final game for Arsenal if the latest reports are to be believed.
The Belgian international, who has repeatedly delivered in red and white, now finds himself in a precarious position at the Emirates. With the signings Arsenal have made, and those still expected, including Eberechi Eze, Trossard appears increasingly dispensable.
Trossard – biggest casualty of Arsenal’s summer activity
Noni Madueke’s ability to operate on either flank has reduced Trossard’s value as a versatile winger. Viktor Gyökeres, brought in as a striking alternative to Kai Havertz, has rendered his false nine role largely redundant. And once Eze arrives, his playmaker credentials may no longer be required.
Of all Arsenal’s attacking additions this summer, Trossard was always likely to be the biggest loser despite featuring in every one of Arsenal’s league games last season. It was believed the player himself was pushing for a move, a theory strengthened when he changed his agency.
Initially, reports suggested Mikel Arteta wanted him to stay, but that stance may now have shifted.
Exit to fund Eze deal?
According to BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, Arsenal’s manager may have softened his position:
“Arsenal have an interest in Eze, but the club are currently looking at trying to move players on, with the likes of Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira set to leave.”
While some may view Trossard’s departure as a blow, others believe the new arrivals will more than compensate for his absence in terms of goals and assists. With sales needed to help fund the Eze swoop, his exit could be the sacrifice that gets one key deal over the line.
Currently injured, Trossard may leave without playing for Arsenal again. Then again, he might yet get one final chance to say goodbye.

I think Gooners are waking up to the fact Eze isn’t really the answer to the LW question fans keep pushing. Eze does all his good work centrally, it’s like his flair and talent lobbed off when wide left – so what problem is he addressing centrally that Ode, Ethan, Kai, Wooly Jumper, and sometime soon Mad Max (needs better knickname) aren’t already addressing in squad depth?
Meanwhile, for that left wing question, a frightening fast duel monster left winger who has scored over 20 goals in serie ahh in each last two seasons, African Footballer of the year, 14th in Balon Dor list, in serie rankings from last season 3rd for goals, 4th for goal involvements, 3rd for key passes, 2nd for progressive carries, how far off Prem level is serie ahh?
These facts show This is clearly a different Lookman to the one you remembering. This new one knuckled down on his fitness and professionalism to make the most of his talents to consistently be the best he can be. Lookman, now in his Prime can add depth right across the front three, I rate him as being able to deliver the goods when asked from rotation or bench, even nail down LW with a weight of goals. If our last piece of business of this window is Trossard replaced by Lookman, I’m perfectly happy with that.

The gaffer did showed initial interest in Lookman, in fact I understand we did tried to sign him, but interest seems to have cool on that front
What left wing question? It´s solved alredy by Madueke signing. We need more defence braeking crativeness against the teams that sit back and Eze is a perfect weapon for that.
Lookman said no to us already but that´s fine by me, I don´t thionk we need another left winger anyways…
Ask any Chelski fan. Madueke was crap on the left side, better on the right. And if he becomes our left forwardthen we are in serious trouble with no backup for Saka. Saka needs rest and rotation. He was played to exhaustion the last few years – was not very good in the critical end of season period. And of course was played to injury last year. We need a serious backup for Saka so he is ready and rested for the big games against the top 6 and CL knockout games.
The Belgian have served us well, but Eze could be just what the doctor ordered to bring Arsenal back to a life of winning trophies again.
Would like to wish Tossard the best if and when he depart.

Arsenal (and Trossard) had better get a move on as Sp*rs look like they’re going to make a move for Eze.
Also, the number of stories around Arsenal’s “supposed” interest in his team mate, Guehi (long linked with Liverpool and hardly at all with Arsenal) seem to be increasing in the last couple of days just as the news around Eze isn’t so positive as it was. Is it “any Palace player will do” for Arsenal I wonder?
I’m not sure Arsenal are really that keen on signing Eze. Even if Trossard were to leave, that left wing is pretty well covered with Martinelli and Madueke.
At the centre, Arsenal will probably want to give Nwaneri the platform to develop by making him the sole heir apparent to Odegaard.
Meanwhile Eze himself would probably be wondering what playing time he’d get at our club. He’d probably be thinking that he would be a first name on the team sheet at Spurs, especially with Madison’s injury.
SoI don’t think we will be welcoming Eberechi Eze to the Emirates any time soon. It’d be a good ‘luxury’ to have, but I don’t think it will happen.

If Arsenal won’t win the league without Eze, then they won’t win it even with him
Yeah Spurs is an obvious move for Eze right now unfortunately, with Maddison’s injury.
I’d love for us to get him too as a rotation option for Øde, but you’re right that it would limit opportunities for Nwaneri in the short term.
Sadly doesn’t look like happening anymore. I think the team is almost certainly settled for the season.
All summer Arsenal have supposedly been interested in Eze. I’m beginning to have my doubts as to the truth in those story’s.
If there is truth then while Arsenal are dithering, it looks like Spurs are going to steel a march on us. Get a wriggle on Arsenal, if your truly interested.

We’ve yet to see Berta’s wriggle, I think. Apparently, it’s worth waiting for.
If Spuds get Eze to join them after he has been my #1 transfer target for multiple summers now, I will not be happy camper especially with us being so close to glory while he’s been waiting to return to the fold.
I know! I’ve been wanting him for a few seasons too.
But annoyingly, if you look at it from his perspective, it makes sense, he’ll be in the starting lineup at Spurs every week, and playing in the Champions League either way.
Your points are well made but it may depend more on other factors such as the contract terms offered or where he believes he can take Spurs after essentially their fluke UCL appearance this season. I really hated to see Frank got to Spurs as that may be a factor as well here. One day everyone will know, maybe, lol.

Trossard is better than eze on left wing compared to martinelli who plays like a sheep doesn’t want to raise up his head. Leave trossard please
I want Eze to compete with Odegaard, and if his end product is intact, then I want him to be our starting no. 10. We even have the ten number available and waiting for his arrival
