Two youngsters join Arsenal first-team training ahead of Sevilla match

In preparation for their crucial Champions League match against Sevilla, Arsenal introduced two of their promising young talents, Amario Cozier-Duberry and James Hillson, to the first-team training sessions as reported on the Arsenal Youth website.

Arsenal is eager to secure a victory in this match after a surprising defeat in their previous Champions League encounter against Lens. Sevilla is also determined to emerge as winners, making this a challenging fixture for both teams.

While it may be improbable for Cozier-Duberry and Hillson to actually participate in the match, their inclusion in first-team training and involvement in the drills demonstrates that they are close to earning opportunities with the senior squad. Although they may not step onto the pitch, this experience indicates their progression and potential involvement in future first-team matches.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Every youngster who does well in our youth teams will get a chance to train with the seniors and prove his worth.

This will encourage others to do well and we could see Hillson and Cozier-Duberry in the squad for the crunch game.

Even if they are not selected, the training experience will motivate them to keep performing well.

  1. How about Nwaneri who broke into the Arsenal first team last season? What has become of him after he was given a professional contract by the club this season? Arteta is looking to have gone into the cooler on him of late as it concerns the youngster midfielder Nwaneri.
But notwithstanding of Arteta not using Nwaneri so far this season anyway, I am not only hopeful to see Arsenal beat Sevilla at their backyard in the Ucl tomorrow. For, I am as well nursing a very strong believe and confidence in the Gunners they won’t disappoint us in the match. But they will appoint success incredibly to us in it by inflicting a match defeat on Sevilla.
If Arsenal 2-1 last time out match loss away to Lens in the Ucl was a mistake committed by the Gunners on the night. However, against Sevilla on the nifgt tomorrow. The Gunners will not fall into any mistake in the match that will allow Sevilla a chance in it. But they will certainly do all that are necessary and correct in the game to beat Sevilla in the match as they will pound them in it with goals scored against them unfailingly.

  2. It’s been 4 years, a nd Arteta has not promoted a single player from the academy bursting with talent. He would rather go buy Chelsea rejects, one after another to fill up spaces that rightfully should be reserved for academy players. Even his mentor doesn’t do this wayward, wasteful thing. Why couldn’t academy players do the what Jorginho does, what Havertz does? These are bit players contributing very little, where the youth could be understudying senior players.

    1. Very disturbing indeed! I strongly believe that one of Nwaneri or Patino couldn’t have done a worse job than Havertz in this current team. Those kids are very promising, but unfortunately, the gaffer seems not to relish giving them a sniff of an opportunity in the set-up.

If that’s about our academy players, I find it more disturbing that Partey (when fit) and Rice are not regularly used alongside Odegaard in that midfield set-up and deemed as our first choice midfield set-up without a second thought. I don’t know of any midfield set-up in EPL which is better than the combo of those trio.

Well, I am not a football manager after all! So, what do I know?

  3. I’m sad for them regarding their CL campaign, they are trailing 2-nil right now having lost their previous two group stage games already.
