Jakub Kiwior has sent a farewell message to Arsenal supporters after completing his transfer to FC Porto this summer.
The Polish international joined the Gunners in January 2023, shortly after impressing at the World Cup in Qatar. At the time, several clubs were interested in securing his services, but Arsenal won the race, with Kiwior backing himself to compete for a starting place alongside William Saliba and Gabriel.
Kiwior’s Time at Arsenal
Despite his determination, Kiwior found first-team opportunities limited. He was primarily used when one of Arsenal’s regular centre-backs was unavailable, making it difficult for him to establish himself as a consistent starter. Nonetheless, he provided valuable cover and produced several solid performances during his time at the Emirates.
This summer, the decision was made for Kiwior to move on, with Arsenal replacing him by bringing in Piero Hincapié. While his stay in North London was relatively short, the Polish defender served as a reliable alternative when called upon and leaves with goodwill from both the club and its supporters.
A Farewell Message to the Fans
Following the confirmation of his transfer to Portugal, Kiwior expressed his gratitude to Arsenal fans and colleagues. Writing on Instagram, he said: “I would like to thank all the people and fans I met along my journey at Arsenal. These were unforgettable moments that will stay with me forever. Thank you, Gunners.”
His words reflect the positive memories he takes from his time in North London, even if he was unable to fully cement a place in the starting eleven. At FC Porto, Kiwior will now have the opportunity to play more regularly and further develop his career in a highly competitive environment.
Arsenal, meanwhile, continue to strengthen its defensive ranks and prepare for the challenges ahead, but Kiwior departs with respect and appreciation from both the club and its supporters.

If arteta had given kiwior enough games like the fa cup, carabao cup and starting some champion league games. Even subbing Gabriel for him kiwior around the 75min mark. These would have made him stick around.
Man management has been arteta bane from the start. We can rotate and give key players on the bench some game time.
imo that game time you mention would not be nearly enough to keep most players and certainly not a talent like Kiwior from leaving for regular first team football while they are in their prime years. I don’t agree with some of MA’s squad management but in this case, it is what it is, and MA should not be blamed for him leaving and if anything should be praised for having such a strong backup available to begin with.

I wasn’t convinced by Kiwior at left back to be fair. But at Centre back was a different story. He like Kieran Tierney, was always professional and didn’t appear to kick up any fuss regarding his limited playing time. And that has to be respected.

Derek, I don’t believe Kiwior quite had the speed to consistently perform at LB in the PL but he was an incredibly intelligent defender and that’s what made him usually serviceable in that position when needed.
Why sell him and not send him on a loan he is a very great player, sad to see him go it hurt because he have other back so much time
