Video – A pessimistic look at Arsenal’s games up to the end of the year

What condition will Arsenal be in when the clock strikes midnight on December 31st?

I have featured smaller Youtubers over the last few days and this evening I bring you a new one to my list, Deluded Gooner.

This Youtuber has 15.6k followers and while is set up his fairly basic he speaks clearly and gets his views across in a coherent manner. I certainly enjoyed watching him.

Rather than discuss β€œWhat if Unai Emery turns our form around” as the headline asked, he basically runs through the upcoming games and I thought he did a grand job.

So ignore the headline and watch the video, I am sure you will enjoy it.

    1. John Ibrahim says:

you are clearly not a fan

no fan will wish the club to lose or finish 8

        1. ArseOverTit says:

You both are clearly delusional if you think we are looking like finishing anything much higher;) he didn’t say he wished it anyhow, he just put ‘8th’.

Self righteous, cultists having blind faith.

With the current situation and football we play it’s not a bad shout.

  1. Glorious says:

Toxic fans will be saying negative but a good fan should be positive. So , top 4 is the answer

    1. GunneRay says:

I don’t think these fans are toxic, Glorious. They are just making remarks based on the current situation and the evidence presented to them. It’s not for us to get upset about it or call our fellow fans “negative”. I’m sure we would all be more positive if Emery can turn things round!

We should all let people have an opinion. If we don’t like it, does it really matter? After all, you say “top 4” but it’s purely hope and just your opinion.

Fact is, we could all do with something to sing and dance about. Let’s “hope” it starts this weekend!! πŸ™‚

  2. Skills1000 says:

We need to start winning games. We must win all the games before the Man City game. And aim for a draw against City. By end of the year, we must be in top 4. Emery should be relieved of his job. The only alternative is he must win games and win big. We need our identity back. We should go back to a 433. Front 3 of Martinelli, Aubameyang and Pepe. Midfield 3 of Torrera, David Luiz/Chambers and Ozil. If Luiz is moved to midfield, then play Chambers in defence. We need to improve in our counter attacking play. And to protect the back 4. Emery should stop twisting formation every now and then. We should have a clear idea of how we want to play.

    Tierney Chambers Holding Bellerin

    Luiz Ozil Torrera

    Aubameyang Martinelli Pepe

Luiz with the long balls. Pepe and Aubameyang should work more on the way they press. We can do it. We have the squad. We only need a manager with balls.

  3. Innit says:

    Hopefully Top 4
    It can still be done

    1. Daniel Hilldrup says:

Ahhh ‘hope’! That blind faith that somehow things will be better.

      Here are some more:

      Great White

  4. Declan says:

I’m astounded if anyone wants us to lose games, I want us to win every game what ever the circumstances or consequences. I’m fearful for the way this season has gone though and just hope if Arsenal are thinking of replacing Emery that they are doing due diligence as with both West Ham and spurs seemingly about to change their managers we need to be in there to get the best available. It certainly looks like a merry go round will be happening in London!

    1. ArseOverTit says:

What is with all this moral compass BS! It’s like a Bible bashing at AFC. I hear GOOD and BAD being handed around in a shining display of basic western dualism.

If say, Arsenal loose 3 more games and I as a Arsenal man wanted them to loose in order for change to potentially occur (perhaps it wouldn’t as our owner and board or impotent) FOR THE BETTER would that make me a terribly terrible person and fan?

Or should we all be content with continued mediocrity?

      1. GunneRay says:

On the other hand, ArseOverTit, What if we win the next 3 games and Leicester lose the next 3 while Chelsea lose 2 games. We are right back in it! I would rather see that and it would be more beneficial to everyone and the team!?

It can be turned around but it will need full support from the fans. If Emery fails to do that then I am sure he will be gone by next year!

        1. ArseOverTit says:

Anything can happen, that is football..but the point is if those in power at AFC are ‘SERIOUS’ about being amongst the big boys and not just spouting rhetoric, then there has to be a greater ambition than just getting by, doing enough to appease most and doing the bare minimum in order to change our future.

Doesn’t bode well that AFC is now owned by one foreign business man who isn’t really answerable to anyone and to has plenty of other sports franchises to worry about.

AFC is hardly the love of his life and therefore this will always dictate things whilst he is in this position.

Emery could turn it around against supposedly weaker (or at least historically so πŸ˜‰ opposition but isn’t that just papering over cracks. With what he has done so far, does that fill you with great confidence and a real optimism that he can actually transform us into serial winners, hard to beat and feared by all?..

          I personally now doubt this.

        2. ozziegunner says:

          GunneRay, cannot agree more!

  5. Francios says:

Top 4 is possible and i think we can do it but the lads need to start winning games, show confidence and be willing to press and fight for the ball…and hope Chelsea and Leicester drop points.

  6. Ronche says:

Play Luiz in the midfield with torriera and ozil. He has the vision, confidence and smarts to know when to intercept

    1. ozziegunner says:

  7. Jim wall says:

God I hate when we loose or even draw a game, but I just wish we get a new manager .
Dont enjoy watching them anymore ,I say I wont watch them ,but then come weekend I just cant help myself…

    1. Sue says:

      Ditto πŸ‘

    2. GunneRay says:

Ahhhhh, the life of a modern Arsenal fan eh, Jim. Lots of self punishing torture with a whole heap of hope that it won’t be so painful to bare!

We all feel it man. I just hope Emery has been planning some sort of tactical system that he is about to finally unleash? It’s a system where he continuously plays the squad members in different position (unsuited to their abilities) or freezes them out of the squad all together. It causes so confusion for everyone that it actually works. Then, he does the complete opposite and plays a master stroke tactical move by putting everyone where they should be and includes a revitalised Ozil. The squad then go on to get top 4 and win the EC!!

Then again, this may have been a dream of mine?!*^ πŸ€”πŸ™„πŸ˜₯
