Wenger admits he needs to buy….. Wanyama?

Why Arsenal MUST Move for This Midfield Enforcer! by AT

The Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has spoken out in regards to his plans for the January transfer window. With Arsenal facing a severe midfield crisis heading into the new year, the Frenchman has conceded that his side could do with some strengthening in order to maintain their push for the Premier League title.

Speaking to Bein Sport, as reported by the Daily Express, Wenger said: “Yes, we are short and the number of games we have to play in January are very important. God knows how we will come out of the Christmas period, with a lot of demand on the physical front so we need to do something. I would love to give you names, downstairs on the bar with a coffee but not in front of your camera.”

For many Arsenal fans, the news that Le Prof has admitted that he needs to bring in reinforcements will come as a great relief, given that this is a man who has the reputation of being stubborn in previous situations such as this one. Now while he was careful not to mention any names, media reports suggest that he is looking at Southampton’s Victor Wanyama, failing which he will move for PSG’s Adrien Rabiot.

For me, Arsenal should do everything in their power to sign the Southampton man. With Francis Coquelin out injured, what the team needs is an out-and-out ball winner. Someone who’s natural game is to sit back, be alert towards danger and make quick interceptions and strong tackles. In addition to having all these traits, the Kenyan international also comes with Premier League experience and is also technically sound.

The Daily Mirror reported earlier that a fee of £15 million might well be enough to force the Saints’ hand in the sale of the midfield enforcer. With Mathieu Flamini’s contract set to expire in the summer, Wenger surely needs to bring in another defensive midfielder and Victor Wanyama really seems to be an ideal choice.

  1. It’s about time Arsenal comes with a great January transfer like Arshavin, Monreal etc. Hopehe will pull his finger out and increase the ranks.

      1. Still scored an AMAZING goal vs Barcelona.
One of the best moments for an Arsenal, beating the mighty Barcelona who were ruling the world at that moment.

        1. Yes I know .. and he also scored 4 against liverpooh but if you think that was worth 16 million plus his wages for 5 years then you are easily pleased and don’t forgot that most fans booed him in the last few games he played before spending the last year of his contract out injured or sitting on the beach.

The facts are that he was a wast of money! ?
And anyone that thinks that he wasn’t must also think that torres was a 50 mil bargin for Chelsea ??

        1. Hahaha
I would appreciate it, if you could flattened the tyres around by belly ??

      1. @Fatboy Gooney
Would rather have Kante from LC. Dude is all over the place breakin up play and converting defense to offence quicker than you can say”Oh *it”

  2. 15 million for Wanyama in January? ?
You got no chance mate, Especially when 20 million was rejected in the summer.

I’m not sure about which player will be signed to cover the DM position but all I can say about the striker’s position is Don’t be surprised when Kokorin arrives in January!
    ??

  3. Yea…Wanyama (in an Arsenal shirt)should be able to break the appropriate legs(aguero, messi etc) should there be the need for that…
I personal vouch for him…I say we go for him…COYG!

  5. So much talk about Victor Wanyama. Hes good but Arsenal should aim for a better player in my opinion. Just google a skill video of Lars Bender for example

  7. Am a big wanyama fan but he’s missing something. He’s all brawn no finesse or technical skill which is mandatory when u play with the lyks of ozil cazorla ramsey alexis n em in midfield. I’d prefer a spanish or south american. Or french.
