Wenger CAN cement Arsenal legacy but NOT if he stays

T have always respected Arsene Wenger and his footballing principles since he took over as the manager of Arsenal over 20 years ago and I am sure that the majority of Arsenal fans have felt the same way. It is not just the fact that he led the club to some amazing success either, but the way he did it and then remained loyal to us when the likes of Real Madrid came calling.

That is the reason why the Arsenal fanbase is so torn and why there were two banners flown over the Hawthorns at the weekend, one saying that he needed to go and the other urging the fans to show respect. I get it, I really do, and have been one of his staunchest supporters for years.

This season, however, seems to be a season too far and my hope that the prof could proove his doubters wrong and lead the Gunners back to glory is not looking like a forlorn hope that was born more out of respect for the man than any actual evidence on the pitch.

I do not want to have to be so frustrated with Arsenal under Wenger but he is leaving us little choice and I feel that one more year would make this worse and damage his already tarnished legacy further. Can he not see this? If not someone surely needs to have a quiet word and urge him to reconsider the widely reported decision to go for one more year.

Do yourself a favour Arsene, and the Arsenal fans that love and respect you as well, and go while the legacy is still strong.

Bob.
