Wenger just gave Arsenal star´s England career a HUGE boost

I hope that the Arsenal and England forward Theo Walcott realises that Arsene Wenger has given his international career a massive shot in the arm. And hopefully the pacy 26-year old will consider that during the contract negotiations that could drag on through the summer.

Not only did the Frenchman give Walcott a place in the starting line up for the final two games of the season at the perfect time to bring him to the forefront of Roy Hodgson´s thoughts as he prepares the three lions for a friendly game against the Republic of Ireland and a Euro qualifier against Slovenia, but he played him in the centre forward role.

So there is an excellent chance that Hodgson will hand Theo his 39th cap in Dublin on Sunday and a pretty good chance that he will give the Gunner a chance to strut his stuff in the middle. The England boss would be daft not to after Walcott´s brilliant showings against West Brom and Aston Villa and if he does then Walcott own his club boss a big thank you.

The striker´s England career was looking as if it might be petering out but his club form should be enough to at least give him a chance to rescue it. The absence of Welbeck due to injury and the poor recent form of Raheem Sterling also comes at a great time for Walcott and a couple of good games for England now should have Walcott firmly back in the England set up and that would be good news for Arsenal as well as he would have a happy summer and be in perfect shape for the start of next season.
