Wenger optimistic on Arsenal’s title chances

Arsenal didn’t get into full flow last season until after the New Year when we were already too far behind Chelsea to make an impact, but now it is only the end of October and the Gunners are are already in flying form. They are joint top on points in the League and are aiming for the fifth win on the bounce this afternoon at Swansea.

“It is very tight,” said Wenger. “That’s why every game is a big challenge. First of all, because it’s very tight at the top, but also because of the quality of the teams you face. You always need to be at your best.

“At the moment what you see in every season is teams you expect to be there at the top are there. One or two surprising teams are also always at the top every year after 10 games. This year the surprise packages are Leicester and Crystal Palace. I expected Crystal Palace to fight up there but Leicester were less expected. They have continued their run from the end of last season.”

“Everton was a very important game for us on that front,” Wenger continued, “because after the Bayern game, to be straight away capable of winning a big game, shows that the team is focused, resolute and has the capability of keeping the concentration at a high level. That makes me quite optimistic.”

I personally will be more optimistic after we get all three points at Norwich. Man City should easily dispose of Norwich, but United have got a difficult task at flying Crystal Palace so fingers crossed we may open up a gap on them today. We simply don’t care about Chelsea v Liverpool as neither of them are contenders this season…

Come On You Gunners!
