Wenger refuses to let Sanogo go to Bordeaux

The Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is obviously keen on making a return to Ligue 1 where he showed his early promise with Auxerre, but as the Bordeaux President Jean-Louis Triaud said: “We are working on the arrival of Sanogo. He wants to come to us, it’s a certainty,”

“The goal is to have him for Monaco [Bordeaux’s next game on Sunday]. We asked for Arsenal to keep us informed.

“They had given me as a response date of Tuesday or Wednesday. I explained that I prefer Tuesday.”

So Wednesday night has arrived and there is still no deal done with the French giants, and now the Express is reporting that Wenger has refused to allow Sanogo his wish and wants the 21 year-old to prove himself in the Premiership rather than take a step backwards to the softer French League.

Aston Villa, Sunderland and Crystal Palace have been reported to be possible destinations for the French U21 striker, so I only hope that Sanogo buckles down to his manager’s wishes and goes on to prove himself in the “toughest League in the world” and comes back to the Emirates as a proven goalscorer.

He certainly needs to lose that nickname of SaNoGoals very quickly before he starts to believe it himself….
