With some Arsenal players still not looking quite ready after the World Cup finals this summer, the three German Gunners still to be included in a squad after an extended summer holiday and a slightly worrying injury list, Arsene Wenger is probably already looking forwards to the two week international break in order for him to get his team ready for the rest of the season.
But the next five days sees Arsenal face two games that could potentially have a huge effect on our season. We definitely don’t need another heavy away defeat like we got at Goodison Park last season, because it could have long term effects on team morale. And we simply cannot afford, in more ways than one, to not beat Besiktas on Wednesday.
So with both games in mind, what would be you starting line-up for Everton later and the reasons behind your pick. Here is mine, with the assumption that Mesut Ozil will not be in the squad as he was not training with the other Arsenal players yesterday, at least I did not see him on the pictures.

I have dropped Cazorla for Podolski because the Spaniard has been off the pace and Podolski should be fresh and will also give Monreal more protection. Chambers has done well but I think we should get our first choice defensive pairing going again as soon as possible. And putting Wilshere in the number 10 role should giove us more bite in midfield as well, because we will be put under pressure from Everton. Hopefully Sanogo is fit, because Giroud was frankly awful in Turkey. What do you think, Gooners?

I must say i am impressed with calum chambers he has really stepped up!
My only change to your line-up would be to get Campbell in there for LP. He played well with Sonogo against Benfica. Of course he also had a goal of great quality in that fixture. If Sonogo is not fit, then push Campbell up front and put Ox in where you have LP. Giroud should be benched for his embarrassing effort on Tuesday.
1. To avoid over-use of players and to get some fresh legs on the pitch some changes MUST be made. Should not keep the same lineup as the recent games.
2. Some players are easier to decide. Sczez. Monreal, Debuch, Kos, and Mert (if fit).
Flamini is an easy pick with Arteta out. Ramsey cannot play Wednesday so he will be used.
That is 7 out of the 11.
Giroud, Alexis, Cazorla, Wilshere have all been used recently so at least 2 or 3 of these players should sit out.
They should be replaced by the any of the remaining attackers with fresher legs – Ox, Rosicky, Campbell, Ozil, Poldi, Sanogo are all candidates.

The Everton game will be a really good gauge of where we stand in terms of this season
Umm, Ozil was pictured training on the Arsenal website. IF any German is likely to start, it’s him.

Its a very attacking lineup, but I’d bring on Flamini early into the second half if we can get the lead. I also really think that Chambo has deserved the start over Santi. Give Giroud 65 minutes, if he can’t affect the game, then bring on Joel.
Isn’t Poldi left out of the squad against Everton?

With Giroud’s aweful finishing, and sanogo not the final product, i EXPECT AND WANT PODOLSKI to start. He has a hammer of a left foot, and the one chance he gets in the game, expect him to score.
