Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Eberechi Eze, with a verbal agreement in place between the club and Crystal Palace. The Gunners moved quickly to secure the midfielder, snatching him from under the noses of their North London rivals.
On Wednesday morning, the midfielder looked set to join Tottenham following a verbal agreement, but Arsenal intervened after the unfortunate injury to Kai Havertz. That swift move proved decisive, with Eze prioritising his boyhood club once the Gunners entered the frame. An agreement is in place and there is now clarity on when his medical will take place.
Medical scheduled after Palace farewell
According to Fabrizio Romano, Eze’s medical has been booked for Friday, and that will be after his final involvement in a Crystal Palace shirt. It was thought that the England international was due to take part in Palace’s Europa Conference League play off against Fredrikstad on Thursday night before completing his medical a day later, but he wasn’t involved. Arsenal will be delighted with their new acquisition, and the fact they snatched him from under the noses of their noisy neighbours will make it even sweeter.
What Eze brings to Arsenal
In Eberechi Eze, Arsenal are getting one of the most exciting forward players in the league. He is a player who will get fans off their seats, whether it is through a dribble or other attacking actions, and his arrival provides Mikel Arteta with something different. There is not a profile quite like him in the squad and the team should benefit from his arrival, particularly in games that require ball carrying, creativity and end product in the final third.
His creative spark could be the catalyst to unlocking the attack, especially with Martin Ødegaard’s recent struggles for consistency in that area of the pitch. Eze’s ability to combine centrally, receive under pressure and commit defenders should open more spaces for the forwards and offer variety in how Arsenal progress the ball. This is a really exciting addition and many supporters will feel encouraged by the intent shown.

With a medical book and just a pen needed to sign on the dotted line, am probably one of the happiest gooner on planet earth.
Arsenal needs this nimble feet Eze as much as Eze needs Arsenal, like SueP, am not convinced the injury to the Big German influence this signing.
A fan of Arsenal from a kid, Eberechi Eze will start as an instant cult hero, known for his individual flair, and a knack for breaking down defenses with his dribbling and his creative passing.
There is no player in our current set that is unpredictable like the Crystal Palace Man, his explosive runs through the middle consistently create havoc in opposition half, but the capture of Eze gives Arsenal a complete player, composure under pressure, his diligence in tracking back, his close control, his Hollywood passes and scoring spectacular goals from open play or free kicks.
Looking like the final piece of the puzzle, am fine with this shopping list.
Finally. Welcome back to the Arsenal. Second chances don’t come around often but hard work has paid off. Take pride and show what you’re made of Eberechi!!
What an interesting and intriguing signing, genuinely a good player. Hard to see where he fits currently. But I guess he’s versatile so he’s supposed to provide cover all across the front line.
But now I’m question Merino’s transfer even more. So we paid $50 million for this guy just to come off the bench for 20 minutes every now and then and play a few cup games?
And now that Merino is the off the bench guy, will Nwaneri and Dowman get any minutes? No wonder we keep losing academy graduates for free…
That’s the squad depth MA Arteta has been craving for. Infact just be happy about it but not being concerned.

I think…
1. Ethan Nwaneri is a talented player but NOW he is not a game-changer. The Nwaneri – Dowman pairing should be in the FUTURE what the Odegaard – Eze pairing should be NOW. But for this future to exist, the young ones will have to play and for this MA will have to put his mind to contributing.
2. Eze was not brought in as a substitute, he should play right together with Odegaard, like he did in a partnership with Olise at Palace.
3. I see that expectations are high from Eze. Eze-mania has already started. I would say let’s have a little patience.
I’m beginning to tgunbj sonw if our fans have forgotten just how mabt games we could be unvilvwd un this season and how we struggled with such a lightweight squad wheb those injuries took away our four front players at one time.
A great signing, if it happens – I believe if he signs by 12.00 today, he’s eligible for the Leeds game.
Now we have an incredible squad and should expect results.
