Which players should Arsenal be looking at this summer?

Arsene is said to be looking at rehauling his squad over the next two seasons after crunch talks with Stan Kroenke, but which players could make a big step in strengthening our side?

Chelsea winger Willian is yet to be linked with us, but reports are claiming that he may be looking to switch clubs in the close season having fallen behind Pedro in the starting line-up. Should he become available, we should do everything in our power to try and lure him across London.

Another Blue likely to switch clubs is Dominic Solanke, who scored bucket-loads of goals in Chelsea’s youth sides, including 12 goals in nine UEFA Youth League matches in the 2014-15 season to help them win the competition. His contract runs out this summer, and would be available for a minimal fee.

Daniel Sturridge is another striker who looks likely to come available in the coming transfer window, with the striker being regularly overlooked by Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp. The goalscorer would be perfect to lead our line, but his injury issues would be a huge concern.

Kylian Mbappe will no doubt be high on the wishlists of fans, but unfortunately I believe there will be too many big clubs in for his signature and we may miss out. Alexandre Lacazette on the other hand could be a more ideal signing, and more likely signing also.

The striker has bagged 71 Ligue 1 goals over the past three seasons albeit in a struggling side, and his consistency could rival that of Tottenham’s Harry Kane or any other top Premier League goalscorer.

A holding midfielder has to be high on our agenda also, and long-time Arsenal linked midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has only started once in the league in 2017 for Paris Saint-Germain, and could well be open to the switch. His qualities are unquestionable, but he has rivals in Adrien Rabiot, Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore and Lucas Moura for a starting spot.

Which of these options should be prioritised? Could Chelsea sell us another top star?

  1. You only named mediocre players, decent at best.Exactly “the Arsenal calibre”…sad days…we can only dream about the recent past when crowds of world class players lined up to play for us.Can you imagine players of the stature of Henry,Bergkamp,Pires,Ljundberg,Reyes,Vieira,Overmars,Kanu,Anelka,Gilberto,Petit…joining Arsenal in today days? The Europe and world’s cream of the cream was playing for our beloved team.Half of the team was world champion, the other half was European champion…so many stars,it was hard to chose a favorite player.Us…beating the mighty Real Madrid at Bernabeu with easy…try that today.Winning the title with a victory at Old Trafford-easy task…compare that with the 8-2 shame. So,when the recent memories bring an army of stars in front of your eyes…you are talking about…Willian,Sturridge and…Solanke? What a laughing stock we are,how embarrassing everything is!

      1. They are good players now wc yet.mbappe has shone this season only that doesn’t qualify to make him a world class beater. He is top talent but not finished article yet so raises the question looking at wengers recent player development curve is it good for his career if he joined arsenal? Krychowiak is no different from xhaka quality infact he is better in defensive work but poor in distribution and forward play. He looks like an ideal replacement for coq but it will never happen in a million yeats wenger sees coq has the best dm in the world. Hehe he also said we are the best team in the world lol

  2. Please do not suggest a rehaul.
    That’s like a rerun and
    we don’t want that.
    Arsenal needs an overhaul.
The team needs to be rebuilt by a new manager
using modern tactics who will over see the changes
and implement them over the next 5 years.
We must not give the money and the transition to an old man
who is living in the past and who will be gone in 2 years.

  3. I want Wenger replaced, so let’s get that clear but let’s not forget lots of players were not world class when they signed for us. It was Wenger who turned them into world class players.
Henry was a decent winger for France but Wenger turned him into a world class goal scoring centre forward.
Bergkamp was mediocre when Bruce Ricoh signed him and only blossomed when Wenger arrived.
Freddie, Paddy, Marc, Nic and Manu were all unknown when Wenger signed them but he turned them into the great players they became.
We do not need to sign world class players but need to sign a new manager who can turn the players we have or new unknowns, into world class stars.

  4. get rid of le prof-it first, then we will see players who are willing to play for the red and white jersey coming to our club.

  5. Willian : I don’t think he will improve Arsenal and I think many Chinese clubs are looking for his signature. I think Pedro is better and more dangerous than him.

Dominic Solanke : We don’t need another unproven young player. We need an experienced high quality player.

Daniel Sturridge : I see him as another version of Danny Welbeck.

Kylian Mbappe : Too many competitors to get him.

Alexandre Lacazette : We also have many competitors to get him, but hopefully we can get him.

Grzegorz Krychowiak : We already have too many defensive midfielders in our squad. I don’t think Arsenal will sign another.

  6. William isn’t coming that’s for sure! I feel we’ve moved on from needing Gregorz, we need a more mobile DM, he’s just another Le Coq in terms of playing style, we need more a Kante.
Everyone could be either good or bad business, depending on how you view them?

I’d personally say grab either Lacazette or Lukaku, I’d say both but I’m awake and not dreaming lol and a top DM general, then a top LB.
    Everything else is a bonus
