Which striker should Arsenal sign this summer?

Arsenal are being linked with both Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti at present, but which would be better for Arsenal?

Former Gunner Paul Mariner has spoken highly of the Italian, who is currently in a amazing run of form in front of goal scoring 15 goals in his 20 Torino appearances thus far, including the opening goal in last night’s 2-1 loss to AC Milan.

Mariner said: “I like him.

“He’s 6ft 1, plays in the national team, only 23 years old, a fantastic age. I like this.

“I don’t know if it’ll happen in January but I wouldn’t mind seeing that.”

His club is adamant that he will not be sold this window, although his club also claimed that we had launched a bid in excess of £50 Million for his signature, so Torino’s supposed claims are hard to believe…

Alvaro Morata is also being linked with a potential switch to the Emirates, with a summer deal supposedly possible. Arsenal were very strongly linked with his capture last summer, and with Real Madrid using him as a back-up to Karim Benzema at present, Morata may well be eager to force a move away from the club.

The Spaniard left Real to join Juventus in 2014 and clocked up 93 appearances in all competitions before having his buy-back clause triggered and returned to his former club.

Morata has since been chosen to start only 10 matches in all competitions, and unless there is a change in his opportunities, he will likely be very unhappy with his situation.

Arsenal currently have Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck, Lucas Perez and Alexis Sanchez vying for a place up front, but we are still eagerly awaiting a top striker to come in and lead the line.

Should Arsenal sign the red-hot Italian this summer, or the big-match player Morata?
