Who is leading the Tottenham vs Arsenal race for Eze?

Eberechi Eze has emerged as a potential signing for both Arsenal and Tottenham during the current transfer window. The England international is considered to be at a pivotal stage in his career, one where a move to a bigger club could be necessary to maximise his opportunities at the highest level. Remaining at Crystal Palace for too long may reduce the likelihood of securing such a transfer in future.

The attacker has been one of Palace’s most influential players in recent seasons, delivering a series of impressive performances and contributing to their success, which has included two trophies in recent months. While the Eagles are keen to retain their key players, particularly in a window where they have made limited signings, Eze’s departure remains a possibility.

Arsenal lead the race

According to Football Insider, both North London clubs hold a serious interest in securing Eze’s signature. However, it is reported that Arsenal are currently ahead in the race, and that the player would choose them over Tottenham if it came down to a direct decision between the two. This preference is said to be influenced by Arsenal’s present trajectory, with the suggestion that they are closer to achieving major success.

Arsenal have already enjoyed a productive summer transfer window, but there is a belief among some observers that adding Eze would further strengthen their attacking options. His technical skill, creativity, and ability to operate across the front line would provide manager Mikel Arteta with additional flexibility in team selection and tactics.

The next steps in negotiations

Tottenham’s interest ensures there could still be competition for Eze’s services, and Palace’s valuation will be a significant factor in whether a transfer can be agreed. The coming weeks will likely determine whether a formal approach from Arsenal materialises and whether the Eagles are prepared to sanction the move.

For Eze, the opportunity to join a club competing at the top end of the Premier League and in European competition could prove decisive. If Arsenal are able to reach an agreement with Palace, it would represent a major acquisition for the Gunners and a career-defining step for the player. As the window approaches its final stages, negotiations could intensify with both clubs assessing their squad needs and financial parameters.

  1. The leader of the race will be the team he thinks will give him regular playing time and will pay him the salary he wants.

  2. Surely joining the spuds would be a backward step, as they finished just one spot above the relegation zone?!

    1. Yeah, but, but, but they won a trophy. 🤣🤣
Seriously though, I’m really curious to see whether the owners do what it takes to get Eze or not.

I really don’t know what to make of the upcoming season but as far as I’m concerned the sky’s the limit whether I expect it or not.

  3. Be whining yourself, there is no race, we av not even shown any slightest clue of interest yet, though i wish we av him or spurns might just av him since english clubs like to go for who we crush on 😅

  4. Most likely Spurs. Madds is out for half of the season. They need someone exactly like Eze to solve that creative void. And yeah they can probably sell him a better dream than what we offer. He will be the main man there, whereas for us, Arteta will likely chuck him onto the pile and bring him out for cup games only. Dont see him fancying that. Arteta loves Martinelli too much but wont even bother to even coach him to dart inwards before getting to the byline. So yeah, Spurs for Eze.

    1. 🤣🤣🤣. I don’t know if you are just trolling or being serious with this comment.

  5. Arsenal has been linked so consistently with Eze for many weeks now that I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t end up … at another club.

That said, if Eze is basing a decision on trophy success I guess he’ll stay at Palace because with an F A Cup and now a Community Shield in the last few months, they’ve already matched Arsenal’s trophy haul since Arteta took over in 2019-20 and have surpassed the silverware Sp*rs have this season.

    1. And as the Great Footballing Philosophers on here have been saying in the last 2-3 seasons, Football is all about winning Trophies, hence why players are now more likely to choose the likes of Man United, Spurs, Newcastle and Crystal Palace etc over Arsenal due to their more recent trophy successes.

If Spurs are in for Eze then they should definitely have the edge over Arsenal due to their recent EUROPA CUP success.

These are some of the consequences of being not winning trophies but being Perennial 2nd place losers.
      😔

    2. Nothing we read should surprise considering the lazy media couldn’t even be relied on to publish his correct release clause expiration date.

    3. Bertie,

And with Spurs playing PSG tomorrow in the Super Cup, if they win that there fans will be unbearable.

I can hear them now, claiming to be the best team in Europe. NO, NO, PLEASE NO. 🤦‍♂️

  6. As I’ve said on another post, according to the BBC Website. Spurs look to be making their move for Eze.

So if there’s any truth in our interest, Arsenal better get a wriggle on.

  7. As the time goes on I’m thinking he will got to spurs, that’s if they don’t sign Sylvinho first from City.
