Why Arsenal should be VERY worried about West Brom next weekend

Arsenal are facing a real struggle to regain their normal position in the Top Four and winning their rightful place in next season’s Champions League, but we usually achieve this at least by winning all our games against teams outside of the top six.

We may have games in hand over the teams above us right now, but with a gap of five points between us and Liverpool in fourth we will have a desperate need to beat West Brom in the early game next Saturday or find ourselves dropping further away in the title race. We must at least be challenging for the Top Four after throwing away our tickets for the Champions League Final, but of course we have booked at least one trip to Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final.

The Baggies may have lost their last two games in the Premier League, but they are far from pushovers, especially at home. They currently lie in 8th in the table and despite losing to Palace in their last home match, they actually won their three previous games at the Hawthorns.

That would not normally worry me, but right now it would seem that Arsenal are having big problems winning any games away from the Emirates, in fact in our last six away League games we have lost four of them, with the one solitary win at lowly Swansea to our name. This to me is a big, big worry and makes Saturday’s game nearly a make-or-break game for our season, especially as our following game (after the international break) is another crunch fixture against Manchester City at the Emirates.

We desperately need a boost to our confidence, but be warned, a win at West Brom is far from being a done deal….

  1. After the hiding from Bayern
I sense Arsenal will come out
spitting tacks and will deal to Albion.

  2. Very tough game. Last year we lost there. And this year we are really struggling to play football and we are so easy to play against. If the team setup is not right dont be surprised with a loss or a draw. They will play with power and will be very solid(all pulis teams are famous for this). It will be good to see if players concentration is back as we failed to open up Lincoln in the first half.

  3. If Arsenal players can keep their distances short to play short passes, confident to play with high defensive line and work as a team, I think we will see a good football from them. Because of the heavy pressures from the opponents and the fans, they have lost the confidence and played very cautiously. I just hope they play bravely this time, win or lose does not really matter.

  4. I hope Lucas Perez gets to start………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

  5. West Brom game will be really though. The pressure now is on every game to get a result, otherwise Arsene will be between two ferns again. The spiral of negativity is increasingly heading to the point of no return. If we don’t win at West Brom, it’s curtains for the top 4 IMO…

  6. I remember days when Arsenal was hot pepper in our rivals mouths. Madrid tasted it, Milan too. Man U tasted it, Chelsea too.
Spuds and city always choked on it.

But now we are officially a worrying club. We are worried about almost everything including but not limited to:

*our next match result (no matter the opposition)

    *exit of star players

    *Wenger’s new contract

*being thumped by the next top opponent

*the next star to get injury

Oh God, BRING BACK MY ARSENAL
