He still hasn’t been signed, although reading some reports it was very likely to happen some weeks ago.
It doesn’t mean to say he won’t be signed by the end of the window of course, but the “troops” have been marched to the top of this particular hill so many times only to be marched down again, that I begin to wonder.

The £68m release clause has expired and Palace never wanted to sell Eze and now with only 16 fit players they will not entertain offers for their star players
Reports doing the rounds today are saying we have agreed a 55m deal with Palace and are just working on the structure of payments. One of the difficulties is also that Palace doesn’t have a sporting director I don’t know how reliable the report is, but I hope we get it done before next weekend
Well, I’ll believe it when the photo of him signing the contract is on the Arsenal site.
In a second hand report, I read essentially the same thing. However, in the same source, I read where Spuds are still in for him after losing Son & Maddison and with a better upfront payment offer and total offer. I really hope Eze’s desire to play at the Arsenal is real rather than a desire for revenge by going to our rivals. He is the high earner at Palace but I don’t see enough evidence out there which tells me we should be waiting if we’re truly in for him. Then again, I’m not an insider.

If it’s true that Arsenal are after Eze, then go and get him. If Arsenal are waiting to nearer the end of the window hoping Palace will then drop the price. I think they’ll be disappointed on two fronts.
Firstly, Palace don’t appear to have to sell. And secondly, if they were to sanction a move. Depending where we are in the window, they would have to replace Eze.
I’m afraid I’m having my doubts as to the truth in this particular transfer ever happening. Although I hope it does.

But what about the trophy haul? OK, at Palace he’s won the F A Cup and, today, the Community Shield. However, had he joined Arsenal earlier in this window he would have already won The Emirates Cup! Silly lad.
