Will November will be a good month for Arsenal for a change?

Crucial month ahead as Arsenal bid to keep rolling

Arsenal head into November in much better shape than their fans perhaps imagined would have been possible at the start of the season.

The Gunners bounced back from successive defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea to reel off seven wins in a row in the Premier League before Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace.

That result left Arsenal four points off top spot ahead of Saturday’s blockbuster clash at home to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against Cardiff City over the weekend to move onto 26 points for the season.

Fans watching the game via Arsenal live streaming services will hope for a repeat of last December’s entertaining meeting between the two sides.

Liverpool led 2-0 early in the second half, but quickfire goals by Alexis Sanchez, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil put Arsenal ahead. However, Roberto Firmino replied for the visitors to secure a 3-3 draw.

Unai Emery’s team turn their attentions to the Europa League the following Thursday when they welcome Sporting Lisbon to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s 1-0 win in Portugal last Thursday maintained their 100% record in Group E and another victory would guarantee the Premier League side’s place in the last 32 of the competition.

The Gunners return to Premier League action on Sunday, November 11, when they head to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Midlands club have made a solid start to life in the top flight, but their recent record against Arsenal is not good.

They haven’t beaten Arsenal in their last 19 meetings in all competitions, with their last victory coming in Division One back in 1979.

Arsenal will hope their main stars return safe and sound after the international break as they head to the south coast to face Bournemouth on Sunday, November 25.

The Cherries recorded a 2-1 victory when the two sides last met at the Vitality Stadium back in January and they have looked an impressive outfit this season.

Arsenal complete their November schedule with a trip to Ukraine to face Vorskla in the Europa League on the penultimate day of the month.

Emery’s side ran out 4-2 winners when the two sides met at the Emirates back in September and they will be strongly fancied to pick up another three points in this one.

A 7 or 9 point return from their next three Premier League games and progression in Europe would represent a solid month for Arsenal and set them up nicely for their home clash with Tottenham Hotspur on December 2.

We usually have a bad November, but could it be different under Emery?

  1. I believe we can beat Liverpool, but that will only happen if we organise our defense well. I will be happy not to see Mustsphi any where near the pitch on that day. Hopefully, Montreal will be fit for that game. Wolves and Bournemouth are good sides but we should not have problems beating them. The least worries are in the Europa league. I think we will maintain our 100% record in the competition.

  2. So Wijnaldum said we’ll be an easier opponent than Cardiff were!
I’m going to sound like Kevin Keegan now.. but I will love it if we beat them! Love it!
It’s about time we got a result against them, I’m sick of the thrashings & sick of hearing about Mo bloody Salah. Come on Arsenal make my November!!!

    1. Hello my dear sue. Am hoping we can disappoint Paul Merson and defeat Liverpool. He just kept on saying Liverpool will beat us by more than 3 goals. I hope we can rub his mouth in the mould. Maybe the draw at the weekend will make the manger realise we have weaknesses and take the game against Liverpool more seriously.

      1. Hi there Pat.. yes I really hope so, he drives me mad!! Although he was asked about Tottenham’s success at the weekend, to which he replied what success ?? loved that but hate the way he slates us!
        I hope so Pat…

  3. I love the line in the article,
“ their recent record against Arsenal is not good”.
I think we last played them over 6 years ago?.

    1. I laughed, somewhat scornfully too, at this silly line. PEOPLE WHO SAY SUCH AND SUCH A CLUB HAS NOT WON AGAINST SO AND SO FOR MANY YEARS ARE JUST MISUSING HISTORY TO MAKE A CASE OUT FOR THE PRESENT. All that matters in TODAYS world is how the two rivals play today, not in bloody 1979, nor six years ago nor ANY OTHER IRRELEVANT HISTORICAL DATE. You might as well compare a player in talent to his own grandparent! Pointless and daft to speak of the past, as if it has any relevence like this. And plain unthinking stupidity always annoys me.

  4. “A GOOD MONTH FOR ARSENAL FOR A CHANGE?
October is excellent (despite Crystal Palace) unless we lose tomorrow
    September was excellent (all wins)
Emery won manager of the month
We won 11 matches in a row
And haven’t lost for 12 matches in a row.
    Am I missing something?

October hasn’t ended yet. We play tomorrow.

It should be better than December
In December we have Spurs (home) United and Liverpool (both away).

Good news is that we now have 4 Home matches in a row. That should help. We also have two europa league matches this month.

If we get a good result against Liverpool (ie draw or win) then we could have a super month

But let’s End October well by beating Blackpool

    1. The article was comparing this November to past Novembers, NOT as you seem to think, to this Sept and Oct. It was there in the headline for all to see.

  5. Team v liverpool…….

    1. Does anyone else think that unless playing auba up top in a forward two he will have to be left out. He is wasted out on the wing Wellbeck plays better their…

  6. As a realist, I know that our so called “defence” including total dud defenders like Mustafi and Bellerin will struggle to contain Liverpools swift, determined and pacy forwards. It would greatly help our cause if neither of these two duds ever played in our defence again. I would hower, make out a case for the vastly improved in going forward Bellerin playing as a winger ONLY. But if either of these two, or worse still, BOTH , turn out in our defence against Liverpool we are certain to lose. So many just refuse to admit what their eyes must surely see, which is that neither has a clue how to defend and Bellerin , when it matters, is so often not even there but halfway up the field in any case. The sooner the disastrous Mustafi is gone from us the better. A total waste by Wenger of £35 million and all his wages so far. And before Ken 1945 or any other Wenger lover says that Emery still plays both these duds, exactly who else can he play of the uninjured threadbare defence disgracefully left behind by Wenger, Licht apart, who is limited going forward. Mavrop is injured, AM-N too,Sokratis not yet match fit, Kos still out and KREONKE ALLOWING ONLY PEANUTS TO BE SPENT BY THE NEW REGIME TO REPLACE WENGERS DEFENSIVE TRIPE. Those peanuts have been wisely spent but will not buy the VVD’s of this world, as realists know full well. Our real enemy is not Liverpool but snake Kroenke. Contrast the Leicester tragedy and their outpouring of grief and love to their wonderful and sadly deceased owner. THEN ASK YOURSELF HOW WE WOULD REACT WERE THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN TO OUR OWNER! I suggest, rather differently but decency prevents me speaking more plainly and truthfully on this hypothetical matter. There are only so many things we can actually write in a public forum but no one can censor our thoughts, fortunately.

    1. You are not fit for a human being to in anyway, no matter how disguised, wish on Kronke (or any one at all) what happened at Leicester.

You are a waste of humanity, simply put.
