Would Alexis for Draxler swap deal prove top business for Arsenal?

Arsenal are supposedly eyeing a potential swap deal with Paris Saint-Germain which would see Alexis Sanchez and Julian Draxler move in opposite directions.

The Chilean is out of contract next summer, and is thought to have preferred a move to Manchester City in order to team up with former coach Pep Guardiola, but any footballer in today’s game must be excited by what is happening in the French capital.

PSG made waves in the transfer market by breaking Neymar out of his Barcelona contract, breaking the world record fee by some margin. They are now looking to make waves in the Champions League, and put Bayern Munich to the sword only last week, putting a marker down for any other rivals.

Alexis Sanchez could well be open to joining one of the most exciting attacking sides in the world, and there would be a more than generous wage packet to match.

PSG have supposedly earmarked a £10 Million bonus for the forward should he agree to sign a pre-contract with the club, which would see him join at the end of the season, but with Alexis Sanchez having played only in the Europa League with Arsenal this term, he could help them to make a big statement in the Champions League if he joined come January.

It is believed that Alexis will only be allowed to leave the club should they find a worthy replacement, much like in the summer, and Julian Draxler has been on Arsene Wenger’s watch list for some time now.

The winger has shown to be a great talent for club and country in recent years, and is way too good to be playing a bit-part role for any side, but the wealth of attacking options at Paris at present is mind-boggling.

Would it be good business to bring Draxler in for Alexis come January? Would the French giants be tempted with the possibility of Alexis helping them to win the Champions League?

  1. Draxler wouldn’t come here
We don’t have the same pull we did

Why would he leave a team that ripped Bayern 3-0 for a team that lost to them 5-1 regularly
I’m sure he will ask ozil what he thinks
Ozzy will give us glowing praise haha

  2. Wenger is off to PSG when his contract ends at Arsenal in two years, will he want to work with Sanchez again?

  3. No – we should cash in on Sanchez and promote Nelson. Just because he didn’t cost £160m doesn’t mean he is not as good as Mbappe.

      1. He is ready now. The great players don’t need to wait and neither is their confidence fragile!!!!!

      2. 17, the same age MBappe was at the start of last season.
I’m not saying Nelson can or can’t match that step up, just pointing out the age similarity.

I like Nelson so really hoping he can do better than MBappe 😛
I want to see him in AM and but tempering my own desire by thinking about how good he could be if he can defend like a RWB from the AM…

  4. Draxler has not actually played
    ANY convincing football in his
    entire pro career.
He is about as good as Wilshere,
but taller and has slightly less injuries.
Vastly over rated but Glyfi Siggurdson cost 45 mill so
PSG trying to pay for 200m Neymar and 150m Mbappe
will probably charge 90 mill for Draxler.
Wenger sells through the nose but will he buy 90m through the nose?

    1. watch psg 4-0 to barca or confederation cup at least to see what draxler can do.why u guys always compare a player with arsenal player? and why with wilshire?

  5. With only a few months left on his contact Sanchez will only have a nominal value so it won’t be a swap more £60 mil plus Sanchez for Draxler. Even if Draxler would come, and I am not convinced he would, are Gadzidis and Wenger likely to pay that when they know they will need to replace Mustafi as well?

    1. @Ivan
What are you talking about? Mancity, Chelsea, Man utd, Juventus have all registered some sort of interest in Sanchez. If PSG want him they will have to do something to get him before the rest. A swap deal for Draxler is every bit possible, infact, they may both PAY US money and give us Draxler to make Wenger push Sanchez towards a PSG move.

      1. You clearly don’t have a mind for business. Only Sanchez now has any say on what happens next. He only has to sit tight for 4 months from January then he can go on a Bosman and negotiate himself a large salary with his next club as Sead did with us. If we want him to go in January he will only do so if he still gets his huge salary and that will only happen if the transfer fee is !ow.

  6. All of these rumours are a result of a bad summer transfer window.. Again by Us.. Should’ve sold Sanchez to City.. With Augero in exchange.. That should’ve been the deal that would see both the parties Happy.. Everyone knows Draxler can never match what Sanchez did for Us.. Just put in a lot millions in some real World class talent as a punishment for not handling His contract situation in such a way….

  7. Why PSG would loose money on swap when they can get Sanchez free next summer… They can Sanchez for free and they can earn money by selling Draxler… So it would be win win situation for them… I think Sanchez will only have 1 destination and that is Man City… He had good relations with Pep when both of them were at Barcelona… So he will certainly move to City….

  8. The priority for Arsenal should be the acquisition of a quality centre back and an athletic ball winning midfielder. Until they overcome the weakness in these positions they will not make the top four in the Premier League.

  9. Arsenal should promote the younger players who are hungry for success. Don’t allow age to be a barrier. I remebered Pele playing in the World Cup final for Brazil aged 17 and Trevor and Michael Owen playing in the first division aged 16 and 17. Eusebo played for his country 17. Nelson and the rest are old enough to play for their club and country.

  10. I’d love to see young players given the chance to replace Alexis.

Willock and Nelson for example have shown promise.

We’ve enough depth this season for Willock and Nelson to gradually gain experience, they should get a few Europa League and League Cup games this season and a few substitute appearances in the Premier League.

All going well they could be first team players next season.

Or, we spend £60+ million on overseas experience next summer, and they have to adjust to the Premier League and don’t make an impact for several months. Meaning that both Willock and Nelson don’t get the chance to play regular football for Arsenal, get loaned out and then eventually sold, having never been given a proper shot at the first team.

  11. Can we stop talking about transfer rumors for now? Summer window has barely been closed, and he we are, already talking about January.

  12. Sanchez for Draxler is a real possibility. Wenger wanted Draxler when he was 20 years of age. He still want the guy. Draxler has all attributes to be a good player. Remember that we bought Henry from Juventas, when the coach preferred Trezequet to lead the line, but Henry ended up being a super star more than Trezequet. I dont mean to say it will happen that way in the case of Draxler-Sanchez

  13. Gunner4Life’s comments are full of hatred. Which bad summer transfer? If you were a coach at Arsenal, what were you going to do better?

  14. If Sanchez doesn’t sign by January I would love the idea of a Sanchez/Draxler swap.

Other January Wishes: Sell Ozil, try to get Goretzka, beat Chelsea 3-0 at home
