Would Arsenal fans prefer to win the FA Cup or finish 2nd in the League?

Tottenham may have beaten Arsenal convincingly last week to keep their hope of winning the Premier League alive, but surprise, surprise they blew it last night by losing their next London derby against West Ham last night to practically hand Chelsea the title.

They may have managed to cancel St Totteringham’s Day this season, but the fact is that Sp*rs are still going to end this campaign without a trophy as usual, while Arsenal are still in with a real chance of winning their third FA Cup in four years. Jamie Redknapp believes that the Spuds fans would rather be in Arsenal’s position. “It’s that killer-instinct that Tottenham have got to find,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.

“If you go through the season, the Europa League against Gent was not good enough.

“The game against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final. When it matters and that’s always the Achilles heel for Spurs, even when I was there years ago.

“Have they got that mentality? The only way of changing that is winning a trophy.

“The irony would be if Arsenal win the FA Cup and Spurs finish second.

“What would you rather have? That’s what Spurs fans will be really worried about now.”

Arsenal fans have always been banging on about the Top Four being a Wenger Trophy, but I am sure we would prefer to actually win a real trophy like the FA Cup, than finish just below the top in the League every season.

Wouldn’t you?

    Rubbish Talk
Why can’t we finish first and still Lift the FA cup
Is it too much to ask after decades of Lamentations?

    1. Break-on-through says:

Because it’s gonna tough to win the title this season, I like your optimism but maybe take it down a wee peg.

      1. Arsenal007 says:

No one’s talking about this season. We’ve bottled it already.
But it’s not too much to ask after several rubbish seasons that we could win the EPL.

  2. Taxi4Wenger says:

    Finish second? Really?

What are you on right now? Nearly 20 points gap to totts, and you’re spouting about finish second.

    What a delusional fool.

    1. Krish says:

you didnt read the article did you?

      1. Taxi4Wenger says:

My bad, meant spuds second, aaarggg what i really really want is a taxi for wenger. Wenger out. Protest at best.

  3. Goonerboy says:

I am certainly and totally in support of winning the FA cup than finishing in the top 4…for fans, it is at least a pride that we won an actual trophy we have competed for, the fans who give their all and spend their earned earned money..
We also enjoy seeing our team play in the UCL, but we are far off from winning it and it majorly favours the owners financially, we have become a joke in it..

All in all, it is good to have both UCL and Fa cup both right now, I prefer the trophy…

    1. Taxi4Wenger says:

We re all deluded to think chelshit will allow us to beat them for the trophy?

With their prime top performance and high confidence right now, we still wet dreaming arsene win?

Come on , wake up and pee.

  4. Break-on-through says:

We are the joint record holders of this comp, spu have more reason to want this trophy than we do. Our manager and players, I wonder what their answer might be if they were being honest.

The people who say “Wenger trophy, they should all prefer the cup. But for me I look to the longer term, if we finished second two seasons running, and were spending decent money in trying to improve. That would tell me we aren’t too far away from winning the title. If we had of made a better go of this season and just missed out, then I’d prefer coming second. We look a very long way off winning the title. Manu look allot closer, he is instilling in his players a hard to beat attitude, eventually, esp after recruiting, he will turn allot of this seasons draws into wins. We have not picked up anything which will help us next season.

  5. Goonerboy says:

However, Spurs’ season might still end up being better than ours if we fail to beat Chelsea…
The article makes it look like, we would be playing Hull city in the final…we still have a daunting task before us

    1. Taxi4Wenger says:

Still, spurs is full of chokers. Same as arsene fc.

  6. Taxi4Wenger says:

Spuds is the same chokers as arsene fc.

    Stupid spuds.

    1. Break-on-through says:

Thierry Henry, “what did they have to choke on? You need to be in charge in the first place to let it slip.

Chelsea have been in total control of this league and never looked like letting up for one second. Spu just gave their best which was not good enough. But if they have money to spend in the right areas ..I hate to admit it, but the foundation is there.

I take my earlier comment back ..about spu, thinking some more on it, for them to join the big boys and become a force ..the CL is crucial. Because of the stadium overhaul that money could be vital for them, I forgot all about that. I’d say Arsene is a little sick because he knows too well that that money and that competition could make a huge difference to them. I stand by everything else I said though.

  7. big g says:

neither, i’d rather see us relegated and Kroenke out, Wenger out, players out,

    1. Taxi4Wenger says:

Careful, youre about to be hammered by arsene boys here.

      1. Big G says:

After 40 plus years of watching Arsenal i do not care about thumbs up or down or snide remarks, just the club i support and that is slowly being mishandled by those who run it.

  8. John Ibrahim says:

With such articles, this is why we never win…

    Its first and champ league

Do the Double, triple or quad

Its 99.99% Chelsea will do the double

No champion team has not won the double despite reaching the FA Cup final…not for the last 20years at least

    1. Taxi4Wenger says:

      Kudos, ibrahim ba.

  9. kenneth watson says:

that’s 3 f a cups in four years should it materialise In the final, note bad for arsenal when you think about it.

  10. Frank says:

Win the FA Cup. Wenger out.

Pullis and Adams in for 2-3 years. Install passion and defensive hardness.

Get Allegri and win it all.

    1. Taxi4Wenger says:

      Dont be such a naive.

With an fa cup trophy, arsene would sign the ext immediately.

      1. Frank says:

Ha yeah I know, we can only dream. Wenger could be at Arsenal for another 10 years.

  11. Fatboy Gooney says:

Winning the FA cup would be a great end to what was a ?? season, Especially when you consider that we would have beaten the premier league champions (to be) in the final, to have of achieved that.?

But most importantly, we need that Champions league ?????cough cough.. football ??

  12. John Ibrahim says:

    4 3 2 then back to 4 3 2

Its a cycle….2nd is the highest we can go

  13. Arsenal_Girl says:

All i want is a top manager and right signings to compete for all the trophies.

We cant compete financially with Chelsea, United or City. But we should at least have a manager who can get rid of our average players and sign the necessary players to complete the team and make it stronger

Right now even Liverpool and Spurs are better than us not to mention city, united and chelsea. Everton is on our backs

We are a mess. A new manager can sort out the mess

  14. Ignasi says:

There is absolutely no way Arsenal will beat Chelsea in the final.

I just hope we don’t get humiliated.

  15. Janssen says:

Top 4 is superior to FA cup to me if you are Arsenal. We are already a bit week in our ability to attract the world’s best players so not being able to offer CL football IMO is a greater handicap than being able to tell an Aubamaynag we won the FA cup. The FA cup is a consolation price the only two trophies worth winning are PL and CL. FA cup is better than winning nothing but not better than CL football as far as squad building is concerned.

I think for Arsenal things will spiral downwards quickly if we can not offer CL football.

(Of course, if you are a big club like Man U you can still attract the best players but you have to pay over the top, but they are willing to do that. And everything about them, recent club history, manager, fans says we want to win major trophies and will do anything to get that done, they have a winners DNA and we have lost that.)
