WOW! 1st Arsenal FA cup game is repeat of final v Hull City

Arsenal are not the only Premier League club to get a tough draw, but it just adds more fuel to the argument that we just cannot get a break and that seems to have been the case for a long time now. It is pretty amazing, however, that our first game in this season’s FA cup is against the same team, Hull City, that we faced in the final at Wembley in May.

At least the game is a home one for the Gunners and we do have the morale advantage of having won that final and lifted the famous trophy. Also, since they nearly beat us in mid October, with Danny Welbeck grabbing an injury time leveller, Hull have really been struggling for form and have not won a single game in seven.

So you would think that Arsenal should be able to make light of a fairly tough draw and make progress in our attempt to defend the FA cup. It was never going to be easy though was it?

There are three more all EPL ties, with Everton v West Ham United, Leicester City v Newcastle United and Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur. But our big rivals for the trophy have things easier, with Chelsea at home to Watford, Man City at home to Sheffield Wednesday and Man United away to wither Accrington Stanley (exactly!) or Yeovil.

Don’t worry though Gooners, because Arsenal got tough draws in the competiton last season and look what happened. Can we do it again?

  1. OT:lol i knew wenger would have something to say (after that incident some fans shouting at him), he is saying judge him at the end of the season(that means after getting that 4th place which is what he is best at,as if we are happy with that).the guy just dont get it.the fans were not mad that we lost at stoke, they are mad that he doesnt want to learn from his mistakes

    1. What some folks say on this site can be very appalling sometimes.

When people criticise a person, it is mainly becuz they feel the person isn’t really doing something well enof and needs to improve. Only an Id!OT will see someone doing somefin very good and still criticise him for the good he is doing.

Yes, fans were criticising Pardew, he also acknowledged the fact that he needed to take drastic measures to aid Newcastle perform better, and he did do something. Chelsea even lost to them (something Wenger has never been able to do: beat Maureen). Now, considering how well Pardew is doing, why shouldn’t the fans praise him? The same can be said of Big Sam. If Wenger starts doing the right things, why would anyone still criticise him?

Arsenal fans have been the most patient and tolerant. But Wenger and the board have been taking the fans for a ride. Some folks, particularly some AKBz even said that those criticising Wenger were cowards and that they can’t say anything to his face. Well, they just did and a recent article on this site calls those fans morons. What makes them morons? That they did not call a spade a trowel?

There are fans of Arsenal_FC who are older than Wenger. Funny enof, there used to be a a fan on this site whose age, from his comment back then, must be between 60 and 65. If u watch the video and listen to the voices, u’d realise they were the voices of matured men that were completely fed up.

Wenger should just try and emulate Pardew or consider leaving anytime soon before things get worse.

      1. It’s so easy to blame Wenger for Everything the players do, Has that sh$t morhino won at St James park? Never .is there fan talking rubbish like us. We fans let others critisie our club. This is why media and others find us easy to pick on .

You can’t win a trophy every year . We won a trophy last year. Let it be easy this year . I just hope Man City beat Chelsea to the PL end of the season and the PL

    2. Yes our EPL + ECL chances are
very small so in March the top 4
      chase becomes …like a trophy πŸ™
Then we say ” injuries cost us blah blah”
but “with a couple of decent signings”
      10 years and counting πŸ™
But at least Wenger did not say
“judge me at the end of 3 years”
Well not yet anyway, but it’s coming πŸ™‚

    3. Wenger said he didn’t want to Leave his seat and get down to the Technical Touchline cuz he feared that would inspire or motivate the stoke fans and/or players to keep their good form…….Buahahahahahaha……. My God!…. Its really a bad thing to be DELUDED…….. I teLL u

    1. @Gooner4Life…….. It’ll just be another premier League kinda match, not just an F.A………… Are we looking so fantastic Lately?

    1. Are Southampton missing
      Schneiderlin or what? Two very
tight losses and they go from
      title contenders to probable
      mid table non entities.
Arsenal play Westham on the 28th
      and could go 4th.
      Chelsea City Utd Arsenal.
      Normal service resumes.

      1. Yeah, he is. @Thando. There are things he could say that can assuage the feelings of angry fans, but he won’t. Honestly, I do not wish he be abused so terribly, but it’s not been easy with the fans too. Some fans like myself do think we are the only ones that can pile pressure on him to sit up, cuz the board can’t and won’t. It’s just that angry fans are getting angrier.

  2. I really hope wenger gives joel campbell and thomas rosicky some game time against galatasaray tomorrow! Coyg!

  3. Lucky home tie in FA cup 3rd round.
Last season we got all home ties.
Lucky Arsenal rings true in FA cup πŸ™‚
    But not 4 injuries πŸ™

  4. FA cup is a different ball game. Anyone could knock anyone out. I’m sure many would regard Stoke, Southampton and Leicester to be a good draw… but how did that pan out in the league? We either lost or scraped a draw.

  5. Well….did wenger just name is whole starting 11 out or what…glad he left some players back tho…I think he should’ve left mert too…..he said belerin at left bk lol….boy oh boy..for ur sake wenger I hope this wrks

  6. Our manager said “judge me at the end of the season, not game after game” …. for the love of life, BUY a dm, a cb, ENOUGH with all the damn excuses and political soliloquies AW!!

even my 10 year old cousin says it, BUY a DM/CB in january.. May??? why should we have to wait until may? we’ve been waiting for 10 years!!

  7. My main and only point of interest at the moment is how we sort out the mess we’ve become. Most of this lies around the poor quality and lacklustre aproach of Per m. He had the cheek to criticise the side for the stoke showing when he was the captain on the day and completelywent missing! Finally pundits are starting to single him out as the fraud he is. Motd focused on him and now caragher, I quote ‘ the captain on the day let down the young players with him and abandoned ship”. This is my measure of wengers ability to do his job and his judgment. If per is still one of our starting cbs come the end of Jan then the miniscule support I have left for Arsene will have completely gone. #perfraudsterout!
