WOW! Stats show not even Barca have the attacking options of Arsenal

We already knew that Arsenal have a squad full of good attacking and creative players. The wealth of forwards available to Arsene Wenger now all our injury problems are on the wane was highlighted this month, as the Frenchman has allowed three strikers in Joel Campbell, Yaya Sanogo and Lukas Podolski to leave the club on loan.

But it is not just our forward players who are a danger to opposing defences, as this stats report by Metro shows. In fact, it shows that nobody can match the Gunners when it comes to scoring options this season, as we have seen more of our players hitting the back of the net than any of our Premier League rivals, as well as the really big guns around Europe.

When Theo Walcott scored in the second minute of the FA cup game at Brighton on Sunday, he became the 18th Arsenal star to register on the score sheet this season and that took Arsenal one player above the mighty Barcelona, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich further behind with 16 and 11. Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool are the closest EPL clubs to us with 16 each and this does also show that it is a good sign of a strong squad.

Of course we can only have 11 players on the pitch at any time but it is good to know that almost any of them are capable of popping up with a goal and maybe that is taking the pressure off our specialist strikers. Some Gunners who have not scored yet are Coquelin, Flamini, Bellerin and Monreal, so do you think we could soon see number 19 for Arsenal players?

    1. all this proves…stats are misleading
dont care what anyone says…neymar messi an suarez p*sses on our front line.
no doubt loads of you will actually believe this bs

    2. Giroud ain’t that bad I think we play better with him I’m not all that gone on him either its a strange relationship i think he is after improving but we got a lot of options now with a full squad with spurs coming up cmon things are looking up Gabriel on the way i believe in this team needs a bit of tinkering over the summer but we got a good crop of talent quit bitching

      1. if AW wants us to win EPL before he retires, he’d better get a cavani in teh summer. he’s been making 1 big purchase each of last 2 years. also , dont forget : we conceded 2 to brighton: our D needs work & Coq needs a backup.

  1. watching chelsea liverpool I think it should be the gk position we should be more worried about, don’t know how many saves courtois has made already this game. the likes of lloris ,courtois and de gea are making szczesny, current golden glove winner, look pretty amateur by comparison this season.

    1. @jt………. Don’t worry, Ospina coming good…….. Courtois et al are gonna abandon the race for golden glove soon ……*maniacal laughter*

  2. how come we are comparing ourselves to a team on another level, in another league??? ……..huh! isn’t that why champions League exist?

  3. Speaking of defenders, I was hoping to see the official photos of Gabriel Paulista by now. hope all is well.

  4. I understand that which shows that in 4-1-4-1 formation 5 players can score on you at any point aside from Kos which also has goals in him. I really think with the addition of Paulista we’ve suddenly become title contenders for NEXT year unless Chelsea has a complete meltdown, anything is possible in sports. Next summer with the departures of Flamini/diaby we need a back up DM to Coquelin that’s for sure.

ps: Give Rosicky a year deal already!! diaby

    1. Rosicky is contracted until 2016 unless I’m mistaken. He’ll be 36 then I think, so I’d wait until next season before thinking about an extension. Rosicky has played very well in the few games he’s been given this season, doesn’t seen to be showing his age at all.

  5. play rosicky at crucial games….at such age he cant play every game

2 games a month should be able to bring the best out of him

  6. We need to sign 2 DM to rotate and provide cover…

considering Flamni and Coquelin would be leaving ..

  7. I am just wondering if we were Liverpool today, who is striker do we have to make the difference when we are 1-0 down, Giroud Welback !!

      1. yes, he is a big flop … but, seriously we don’t have that such striker to take us to next level … all we have is a pre-cookded chance waster

      1. I bet that B.Rodgers is eating his sh#t now and cursing the day he thought about buying Big Balo

          1. @themadhurata
There were a lot of Gooners on here who were pizzed off we didn’t sign Balo. Some probably still are…LOL

          2. I never ever wanted him … I don’t like lazy players regardless of skills they have … same reason I wasn’t so much happy about Ozil signing

    1. When 1-0 down you need players who can make an impact. It doesn’t need to be a striker. You need players who will drive and spark off attacks.

Why put on a striker to become isolated with no supply.

      1. How come they are “isolated with no supply”… When it is 1-0 down, you try to get the ball inside the penalty area as much as you can, so yes you need more men there “strikers”.

  8. That may be so but we only have 2 world class players in our attack and one player is not in form, so Sanchez is our only on form WC player at the moment.

Also, look at these Top teams strikers
    Barcelona: Suarez,
    Real Madrid: Benzema,
    Atletico M: Mandzucic, Jiminez
    Bayern Munich: Lewandowski
    Juventus: Vucinic, Morata, Tevez
    PSG- Cavani and Ibrahimovic
    City: Aguero, Dzeko, Bony, Jovetic
    Chelski: Costa, Remy, Drogba

    Arsenal: Giroud, Welbeck, Akpom

A TOP striker is all we need to complete our attack
    Sanchez: World Class
    Walcott: Excellent winger
Ozil: World Class when on form
    Top Striker: ?????
Also: Cazorla, Rosicky, Giroud and Welbeck

Personally, in addition to a WC striker, I would get Reus who can play on both wings AND attacking Midfielder (We always have injuries so he will always play unless injured)

Some people are happy with our attack. It’s just missing 1 piece to the puzzle that will make us one of the best attacks in the PL. A striker who scores every game, who can score from nothing and score at big moments (ie Cavani, Benzema, Dyabala etc)

  9. This jest reiterates my belief and prev comment bout arsenal being a better team with Robin Van Poessy…..more goals from more players and not just the lone striker…
