First Arsenal transfer set to be one of these left backs?

If the Arsenal transfer rumours doing the rounds this week are anything to go by then it looks like Arsene Wenger has a pretty clear idea of where he wants to add some strength in depth to the Arsenal squad, although with the Spanish international Nacho Monreal and the England star Kieran Gibbs you might think that the left back position was already well covered at the club.

According to a report in The Sun though, Wenger is in a battle with the Chelsea boss Antonio Conte over a possible transfer swoop on the Bundesliga club Wolfsburg for their Swiss international defender Ricardo Rodriguez.

The report claims that our Premier League rivals and current table toppers have made the first actual move towards a January signing but we have been linked with this talented 24-year old and we do have his international teammate Granit Xhaka to put in a good word.

The Gunners are also being linked with the signing of a promising young left back called Cohen Bramall and the Daily Express is reporting that the 20-year old is close to agreeing a move to north London, although he would be one for the future rather than as direct competition for our current left backs.

Do these rumours suggest that Arsenal are serious about getting a new left back and does that mean we will soon be saying goodbye to Gibbs?
