Lack of harmony and unity ripping Arsenal apart

Arsenal is a club in crisis and it is not just because of Unai Emery.

Arsenal, like any football club, needs more than just the players, manager, boards and fans to function. For a football team to be successful, all those involved have to function in harmony and that harmony has been missing at Arsenal for some time now.

The life of a football manager is fast, and that is why it is understandable that Unai Emery is the person taking most of the stick for Arsenal’s failures this season, but is the Spaniard the only one to blame?

Unai Emery came to Arsenal as one of the highest-rated managers in Europe but he is set to leave the club with his reputation is pieces, but that shouldn’t be the case.

Even the best managers like Jose Mourinho struggled at Manchester United because all hands were not on deck.
Unai Emery has not had the opportunity to do his best work at Arsenal because of several other factors outside of himself.

For starters, while Manchester United was signing the likes of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan Bissaka, Arsenal settled for David Luiz who couldn’t get into the Chelsea first XI under Frank Lampard.

There are other players like Dani Ceballos who has signed on-loan with so much fanfare has failed to deliver and has to take responsibility for his actions. They gave Mesut Ozil a new contract under Arsene Wenger and he can’t even play well enough to get into the Gunners starting XI right now.

Fans have also not made things easy for the players and that has affected their morale. Imagine being in the shoes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and being hauled abuse at when you are in traffic, or being a Granit Xhaka who fans have been sending death threats to.

Emery as a manager can only relate the best tactics to his players, it falls on them to act on those instructions and on the fans to provide the most suitable environment for the players to thrive.

In better words, unless everyone pulls together Arsenal will not get out of the rut they are in. Every successful team is a united team. Arsenal have to somehow become united once again, something that has not been the case in nearly a decade.
