All good injury news from the Arsenal boss today……

Many of Arsenal’s stars got a rest in midweek after Arsene Wenger made seven changes to the team that beat West Ham United last week. One player that will go straight back into the team to face Stoke City on Saturday is Francis Coquelin who was suspended in midweek. There is also good news from the boss on Hector Bellerin. “From Tuesday night we have no injuries, I hope.” Wenger said. “Everyone looks to have recovered well. Coming back into the squad, we have Coquelin who was of course suspended and maybe Bellerin who has a test today.”

Le Prof also sounded very upbeat and Welbeck and the Per Mertesacker. “They are recovering well but they are a few weeks away from joining in again.” he continued. This of course means that when those two return to the squad the only two long term injuries we will have left is Mathieu Debuchy, who was hardly part of the first team squad anyway, and the little Spaniard Santo Cazorla, who Wenger also mentioned in today’s team news as he looked chipper from his hospital bed after his operation the other day. Wenger said: “It’s a difficult way to say the surgery is ‘perfect’, but you can say it was needed and it went well. Afterwards we have to see how he recovers.”

Now Santi we are going to miss, when you consider how we went downhill when he was injured last season. But the lads seem to be coping better without him this time around and we still remain unbeaten in the League since the opening day loss to Liverpool. Perhaps he won’t be such a big miss, but I am sure you will join me in wishing him a speedy and healthy recovery….
