Of course the Arsenal fans and everyone concerned with Arsenal Football Club expects and wants change at the top, which is why Arsene Wenger has finally been forced to accept that he is no longer the right person to be manager of the Gunners.
Some fans want wholesale changes, though, while others are hoping for more of the swashbuckling style of football that Le Prof became famous for, with a bit more desire and defensive steel to get rid of the soft centre. If that is what the club’s top brass want as well, which I personally assume they do, then the choice of who to replace Wenger with is a very tricky one to make.
A lot of football pundits and journalists seem to think that the current Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is the top target and with a fifth Italian title about to come his way it is hard to deny his credentials. The question for me, however, is how the players so used to Wenger’s managerial style will react to Allegri, with stories about him including swearing at Bonucci and almost starting a fight with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
I would love to think that the likes of Ozil would be shaken and stirred into action by Allegri’s ways but I have my doubts to be honest. Is he too big a change? Would the more sedate Luis Enrique be an easier transition for the Arsenal players to cope with?
