Are Arsenal fans looking forward to Friday night football? Top on Saturday morning?

So the dominance of TV on the footballing schedules takes a new twist on Friday night when Arsenal take on Leicester under the floodlights at the Emirates. Friday night is traditionally the night out with the lads after a hard week at work, so will everyone be happy to forgo their Friday pint to go straight to the Emirates to watch the Gunners?

We all know it is just another cynical ploy for the TV networks to get another live game on the screens, but Theo Walcott thinks that the novelty could work in Arsenal favour as we look to go top of the table before everyone else plays over the weekend. “A night game might be better for us,” he said. “It’s a bit different, a bit new for us and our fans will be up for it.

“Home support is always crucial and that will be so key this season as the fans will just be behind the team from kick off all the way through.

“Clear eyes, full Arsenal, can’t lose.”

Home support was not at it’s best last season with the Wenger Out banners and the crazy plane stunts, but as we go into the new season with new stars and new hope that we can finally win the title again, the crowd should be well and truly behind the team, but will everyone be happy that we are playing on a Friday night?
