Arsenal and Chelsea falling behind in chase for two targets?

The transfer rumour mill is kicking up steam in the absence of competitive football, but two targets that Arsenal have been linked with could be set to move elsewhere.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been running the mill in 2016, with reports claiming he has been house-hunting in London, while refusing to sign a new deal with Borussia Dortmund. He is supposed to have turned down more than one offer from his Bundesliga side in recent months, and is said to be keen on a move to the Emirates.

Latest speculation however claims that Tottenham are trying to move in on the Armenian all-time goalscorer, although Juventus are also supposed to ‘hold the key’ to his signature, due to links with the player’s agent Mino Raiola.

Carlos Bacca is another player who both us and Chelsea have been linked with, with Arsenal strongly linked with his capture prior to his switch to AC Milan last summer. West Ham are now believed to be lining up a deal for the Colombian.

The Hammers have already failed in a bid to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, but remain keen on bringing in a top striker to set alight their move to the Olympic Park this summer.

Should we fail in our bid to sing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid/Juventus in the coming window, we may rue having distracting ourselves from Bacca’s signature, with the 29 year-old having proved to be a more-than consistent goalscorer for all his previous sides.

Mkhitaryan is also a top performer, and has enjoyed an eye-opening campaign for Dortmund this season.

Will we land Morata and forget all about Bacca? Do we need Henrikh if we are keeping Ozil and Sanchez?
