Arsenal and Chelsea to pull away in Decisive December?

Arsenal have successfully navigated through Nasty Nervy November with a couple of draws but only the one defeat in the League Cup, and we have started Decisive December in awesome style with 9 goals in our first two games and are sitting happily in second place in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that this month could have a big effect on the title race, and he thinks we are in fine fettle for the fight ahead. “I believe that first of all we have a good team dynamic, we have a very strong team spirit and we have more maturity, definitely,” Wenger said. “Unfortunately, the teams around us have as well more.

“I would say today you can assess the Premier League as very open and very interesting as well because there are many, many big games. On our side, we are in the middle of the fight and we have a chance so in December that’s very interesting.

“As you know, December is a very important month and for us even more because we have some big games. But overall, I’m very happy with the way we behave and with the consistency of our desire.”

Personally I don’t think that December is that bad for us. We have Stoke on Saturday, and will need to make full use of our squad as we face Everton in Liverpool just three days later. But the fact is that the Toffees are also playing on Saturday and won’t have the depth that we have to help overcome the fatigue.

After that we have the tough one against Man City at the Etihad, but I am feeling pretty confident that we can come away with a point at least to keep us ahead of the Citizens. After that we have West Brom at home on Boxing Day and Crystal Palce visit us on New Years Day. That doesn’t look like a tough run to me….

Chelsea also have an easyish run as well, with West Brom at home on Sunday, and a trip to Sunderland on Wednesday. Then they have Crustal Palace, Bournemouth and Stoke to take them to the end of the month.

Man City don’t have just us to contend with though, they also have to travel to Liverpool on the last day of the year, while the Reds also have the always-dangerous local derby with Everton at Goodison Park.

Yes this is sure to be a tough month for everyone, but I think that us and Chelsea will come out best in Decisive December. What do you think?
