Arsenal and Unai Emery going all Brazilian and not just for Edu

It seems that Unai Emery is turning towards Brazil as he attempts to rebuild Arsenal in his image.

We are reportedly on the verge of signing teenager Gabriel Martinelli in a £6 Million deal and have been consistently linked with a move for Ajax forward David Neres and you can now add Sao Paolo winger Antony to that ever-growing list of Brazilians either joining us or that we are interested in.

Yahoo Esportes is claiming that we are one of a number of clubs interested in the 19-year-old and that his agent, Junior Pedrosois, is flying to Europe this week to begin talks with interested parties.

It already made sense that we would want to sign former Gunner Edu as our new technical director and you have to think that his influence in any negotiations with potential Brazilian targets would be a huge advantage for us.

Anthony would reportedly cost us a fee in the region of £21 Million, which may be a little steep for an unproven teenager when our transfer budget is so restricted but we need to start bringing in talented youngsters and put trust in them in the same way our rivals and the likes of Ajax have done, it is not as if our more experienced players have served us well recently.

I personally have no problem with us going all Brazilian, when a club brings in a core of players from a particular nation it can work out well, we did it previously with French and Dutch players, AC Milan famously did it with their Dutch contingent and so have Barcelona.

Whether this one happens or not is open to question but I do like the direction that Emery and the club appear to be taking.
